Hey everyone,

I know it's been a while since I've been online. I've been busy with the whole college thing, working the government thing, the girl and most importantly riding. I love living down in El Paso, Texas since it's riding weather ALL YEAR ROUND!

Anyways, onto the actual subject, so as we all know I currently own a 2005 Yamaha R6 but that is soon to leave the garage. I'm not going to the dark syde or nothing, just to a little better bike. So here is a picture, tell me what you think and the mods that I can possibly do and things of that nature so that I can save up the money...

Better bike?
I guess that is a matter of opinion. Those thing are great and you will like it. Its totally different from what your use to but, you'll get the hang of it.

So,
When you getting it?

I'm looking at the 2006 RC51 at around the end of January - Early February time-frame. My friend knows the owner of a dealership and the guy said he'll give it to me for like $9K brand new, TTL included. So I think that's a good deal, right?

OK money bags. You got that huge trust fund don't you?
Trust fund, me? Hmmm, I um, um..well, yeah.

But I'm trying to decide about selling or tracking it. I have someone that is interested in taking over the payments, so if they want to do that, then that'll happen. But if not, I may keep it, and track it.

Long time no see, graff. :luck: if you can afford it. I have always liked RC51's but never ridden one.

if $9,000 is legit, then take it and dont look back. a used one will cost that much. the bike design has been around along time virtually unchanged (save for some swingarm tweaks and such) So theres a good aftermarket. Keep us updated.

I test rode one a couple of months ago.......... not a bad bike but a little
on the gutless side compared to my CBR1000RR.......... i was not overly impressed. I did not care for the vibration ov the V compared to my I4 either.
More of a novelty collectors bike these days compared to any of the big 4's
liter I4 bikes........... i would not buy one after test riding one.

The RC51 is usually compared to it's V-twin rivals, the Ducati 999 and Aprilia Mille R, both costing thousands more. Honda fixed the RC's fuel injection/ignition mapping in 2002. It was the only flaw in the original.

It's a great buy for it's value and gear-driven cams. And it makes the same power as the 1000RR. Up to 9,000 RPM, that is, the RC's real redline. The only mod you have to do is fix the hard seat. Motorcycle Consumer News tested the RC in 2003. Send me a pm if you would like a copy.

You will Take the I4's to school on high speed wheelies.

the Rc51 is a DAMN fast bike and in a 8th mile will embarrass many of the 1K i4's....plus in town twins are GREAT. it wont have the top end rush, but it should match the top speed of the R6.... first and biggest power gains ive seen have been new exhausts for the Rc.... and nothing sounds beefier then slip on duals... the 4:1 will cut more weight and make a bit lower end grunt, but it doesnt lack it anyays on a twin... stay dual and keep that top end all freed up. If you cna get it go for it, itll sdet u out rather then blend u into the sea of R6s but i ride nakid so stand out is bigger for me.

BUY IT AND enjoy it.. if u cna afford to go track specs on the R6.. go for it. Keep the RC nice and shiny and outgrowl the I4s in town and out wheelie em too for fun.

The RC's are awesome. And they're right... Ace has one and the first thing he did was put a Corbin on it. Then a nice set of Micron's.

But yeah get a new seat if you get one. Ace rode his from Michigan to the GAP!!! :yikes:
