While I was in Kentucky over the weekend my dad decided to go pick up his new 2006 Honda Goldwing w/ comfort & navigation he ordered about 2 months ago.
(I think this is why he kept hinting for me to come down for the weekend)

He had the dealer install the chrome luggage rack and the wing on the rear. I still can't believe he got this bike for $18,289, it's got everything you can imagine. Every dealer we have talked to said he better get it because no one else would sell it for that price. He actually got the bike cheaper than dealer cost, as we saw in the computer when the guy was doing all the paper work when my dad was writing out the check for $18,039.:yikes:

This cycle shop sells new bikes below dealer costs, then waits on his sale incentive from the manufacture to make his profit. but what ever sells I guess.

The owner told me he would sell me a 2006 GSXR 1000 for $9500.00:drool:

anyway here are some pics I shot of the Goldwing.

Never mind. I see it with the break light built in under the rear rack.
yeah that chrome luggage rack really hides the wing. It's really not my style either, but I guess my mom really wanted a comfortable bike to ride on the back with my dad....so he got it.
here's a few more pics.

Holy crap thats a lot of buttons.

man nice price, what is the going rate on a 06 GSXR 600 from this guy then?
Yeah well a lot of the buttons don't work unless you have the CB, and chatter box etc.... However this bike does have cruise control, and a power assisted backup.

I would say this guy would knock off about $3,000 to $3,500 off a 06 gixxer 600.:2cents:

There almost as comfortable as a car. If you haven't ever ridden one. You should just for the experience.
I sat on that bike, and said :wtf: this is a heavy beotch!!! 1832 cc six cylinder, I think it weighs in about 900 pounds and produces about 200 HP to the rear wheel.
My dad called me last night and he said he took it out for 17 miles and it rode smooth as can be, but he needs to get use to it while riding in town, but on the interstate she's as smooth as a caddi.

They are heavy. If you drop it, Its unlikely one person could pick it up. I go to the Honda Hoot every year at a few different locations. When on falls, there is like 10 people running to help. Takes two or three to get the biotch back up right.

nope!!! and that's what sold my dad on this bike! My dad is a short guy like me and that's what he was worried about.
When he went to the dealership to look at these 06 Goldwings he explained to the sales guy his fear of laying the bike over.

The salesman showed him something.... The salesman sat on a 06 goldwing, acted like he stopped at a light, then lost his footing and the bike fell over. The bike stopped at 45 degrees. My dad tried to push down on the bars, and no fairings or handlbars would touch the ground.

Then my dad said ok now how do I get this SOB up...I'll need 3 big guys to help me lift it up. The salesman said NOPE! put your back and butt up against the seat put your right hand on the grip...then push backward with your weight and the bike will stand right back up. My dad tried it and it worked.

Doesn't work with the older bikes. They just keep falling.

I saw a class at Daytona Bike week a few years ago for the ladies. The instructor was teaching them how to pick up the big cruisers by them selves. You know its all a matter of leverage when a 5 foot 100ld women can pick up a Fat Boy by her self.

I'm sure the newer bikes are a lot more cenetered gravity.
