MIAMI -- Police shot a naked man Friday evening after he allegedly attacked a police officer in a Kendall apartment complex, authorities said.
Police said they began receiving 911 calls from residents at about 8 p.m. about a naked man running around the Waterford Point apartment complex.
Police cordoned off 122nd Avenue between Eighth and 90th streets during the incident.
The man also had allegedly beat a man on the property, police said.
A female police officer responded to the scene, which is when the man allegedly ran up and punched her in the face, police said.
After additional officers responded, the man allegedly attacked the other officers.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was reported to be in critical condition.
It was not known why the man was running around naked.
The female police officer was recovering Saturday morning.
