It should have it under the rear seat. I got one under my rear seat but my solo cowl doesn't have one. I don't trust the fools around here anyway.
i remember my friends 04 R6 having one under the rear seat and that's why I figured the 03 R1 has it too. I'm not sure of my solo cowl has one or not.

The one thing I didn't like about the R6 helmet lock was the hooks were attached to the bottom of the rear seat, so you had to strap the helmet to the bottom of the rear seat and latch it down on the bike.

The SV had the locks attached inside of the rear seat compartment so all you had to do is strap on the helmet then put on the rear seat or cowl.

My 919 came with a cable that you're supposed to loop through a hook under the seat, it is a total pain in the arse.

I bought one of those Motion Pro ones and have used it for the past few months, the lock mechanism is kind of cheap but it does the job. I think I bought it from JC Whitney for about the same price.

I was looking at these a while back. http://www.barender.com/ They look nice but they arent cheap.

Whats to keep someone from just removing the screws?

I had to remove mine, I used a large flathead screwdriver. It took some effort, but it worked. I had some rubber tape under the lock so I didn't have to crank the screws down super tight in the first place.

If they want your helmet bad enough they are going to get it no matter what...

i got a question

Will this helmet lock prevent people from just cutting the straps off the helmet?

Not sure how this is installed. How do you know if you have one or not?

I have an 05 gsxr 600

thanks

Nothing stops them from cutting the straps, locks only stop honest people anyway.:willy:

Most bike have some means of securing your helmet, I'm not sure about exactly how it's done on your GSXR but it would be in the owners manual. There are several guys on here with GSXR they'd know.

ok thanks thats what i figure but wasnt sure. On the GSXR's the helmets are strapped to the inside of the rear cowl and you lock the cowl on top of the straps. :leaving:

I had a friend who had a guy jab a screw driver in the ignition just because the bike was chained down and he couldn't wheel it away. even left the screwdriver!:cursin:

park near a train station or something and use one of their lockers...

Thieves want cash, not useless helmets. A helmet with the strap cut off is useless, they can't sell it. I'd be more worried about a pissed off and piss drunk HD rider mad at your foreign bike and pissing in your hemet!

 yeah that'd suck especially if you figured out AFTER!...:cursin:

but can't you just replace the straps? I haven't really looked at mine... but I'm sure it's a part that can be replaced...
