How old is the pit? That will make a big difference in what kind of advice we give you. If you want, email me off list and I will give you help. I have extensive experience with dog training and can point you in the right direction. :) And, we own a rotti and a doberman...two of the other types of dogs that are probably on the list at your sister's apartment.

Although some breeds do have natural behaviors they can be taught. As said before age has alot to do with it- but even old dogs can learn new tricks if you work with them. I had a pit before and he was one of the sweetest dogs I've ever owned. He loved everybody and got along great with kids and other animals. He was probably a year old when I found him running around the neighborhood starving. I suggest to have yours watch you with the other animals and to just separate them thru a baby gate till you're sure he will be gentle... also take him walking first if he seems too anxious. Walking a dog prior to training, really helps them to concentrate. You may also want to introduce him to one animal at a time.

If its a pup.
Treat it nice and don't play ruff with it. It will be a friendly dog in the end. They have a natural aggressive behavior to start with but not mean. It is best not to encourage it in any way.:2cents:

She might be staying there with the dog if she gets caught. I've seen evections for lesser offences.

I really hate when people blame poor temperament on the breed of dog. Pits can and are great family dogs if the are well socialized and loved. Treat a dog like crap and I don't care what breed it is, it will turn.

As far as breaking the rules in the building, well I guess thats up to you, but sneaking a dog in and out for exercise a couple of times a day wouldn't be something I would look forward to.

Yep, plus owing any termination and legal fees if the landlord has to sue.

I wish her the best of luck.
I don't agree with sneaking a large bread dog in an apartment that doesn't allow it. Its to damn hard on the dog to live like that.
:iagree: I hate using a leash on my dog all the time... hopefully my next house will have a fenced in yard for the dog...
