Over the weekend I have added to my collection of safety gear. I bought some Nitro V riding boots, and a Escort Passport 8500 X50 Radar detector which is the "Worlds Best Radar Detector" I mainly bought it for the truck, but I may buy the motorcycle mount, ear bud, and attachment LED that goes in the helmet.

Has anyone else had any experience with these boots, the guy in the motorcycle shop said him and his wife both have a pair and they love them.

Here's some pics. (So much for uploading hi res 5.0 MP pics in it wouldn't let me, so I had to back it off 2 qualities down to standard)

I have been shopping for a deal on them, I keep buying too many toys lately, and I didn't want to fork out a whole lot of money on them right now. I just walked into the shop while I was in town, and they had them for 50% off last pair, I got the for $68.00 after tax.

the only thing that bugs me is the boots pull my leg hair! OUCH! I guess I need to wear socks taller than ankle socks.

I don't have the full range of motion of my ankle while shifting.

And yeah buddy! the radar detector is the [email protected]!!

Yeah, and do you use those for full leather or just for blue jean casual riding?

GM, I clean the table everyday! and the boots are brand new anyway.

I wear the boots with blue jeans right now. I want leather pants with knee pucks built in, a two piece leather suit, or a one piece. I can't find the right deal yet, so I am still putting it off till I get a pair cheap, but good quality.

I was just hassasing you about the table! :D

I was just curious about their use.... I wear Red Wings steel toe boots for my "blue jean" riding... I got work to buy them for me due to steel toes and they work great if I got to kick some a-holes car on the road!

That would be great use for steel toe!
I left my boots over at KatanaMan's house when we hit up a twisty over the weekend, and sure enough I scraped the hell out of my new adidas shoes, and the peg! I wish I wore my new boots for that ride.

Nice boots, but didn't you say that you were going to buy anyone who is a "first 1000 member" of TWF one of those radars?

I'll be anxiously awaiting mine in the mail.

Sweet gear! :dthumb:

when i went looking for riding boots, wanted something casual looking, found it at an unlikely source.....I found these tommy hilfiger boots that covered well above the ankle, zip ups, and had low heel and didnt feel bulkyit actually made for excellent riding boots.

Polo also makes zip-up highrise boots that could make for excellent riding boots.

I just bought a pair of Sidi's for the track from Faze - good deal for both of us - he wanted to sell them to buy Oxtars and I was looking for a good deal so we met in the middle.. Also just got my jacket fixed so it will zip into my Teknic pants and just got my back protector in the mail.. Now I don't have to borry shiiiit to go to the track (well other than a spot on Dyno's trailer). That is the official MP safety update. Of course next year I will need to get a new lid. I think I can get the rest of the year out of my HJC but it is now 3 years old and due for replacement. Here are my boots (I didn't take the pic it is off newenough.com):

MP I like your new boots more than mine. Sidi's are a little expensive for me right now.
N4S, I bought my Nitro's at Bells Honda Suz Kawi in Georgetown, KY.

I rode with a old friend in Maryland this weekend, and I got to try out my new boots! Well I have already broke them in right. I scraped up the bottom outter edges of the boot. The after-market race pegs got their share as well. I was really hopeing these race pegs would help out with bottoming out since they are raised up about another inch, but I have been hitting them alot lately. Better my new boots, then new tennis shoes right? Yup that's what I thought too!

Oh and Graff, you're going to be waiting along time for the radar detector to come in. It's in the mail  woops can't count on the Post Office for nothing anymore these days.

Are those child size boots? Look very small, or someone has very small feet. LOL
Good choice on the Passport radar. One of hte best around. Does not top Valentine but I personally do not like them because they are so freekin big. The X50 is nice. Hope you got a good price. If I would have known I could have sold you one. My brother and I have a good hook up on them and seel both the red and blue models on eBay.

The boots aren't that small.
The escort passport 8500 is rated "worlds best radar detector" research shows it out performing any other radar detector including the Valentine. Escort also makes a series similar to the stealth valentine, but for some reason the passport 8500 is still "worlds best" I did get a decient deal on it.
