New bike from dealer

Some dealers don't care if they sell a bike unless they get their price, and others want to move as many bikes as they can, you get to sort them out. I have found there are many more important things than just price. I'll give 1 example...the Aprilia dealer in Tally, yes Twisty I am negotiating, moves tires. They charge MSRP for tires, they pay shipping, They remove the tires and wheels from your bike, mounting, high speed balancing, valve stems, etc., is included in the price of the tire. They are looking for business. Find a dealer who wants to do business and you will be fine.

There's some volume dealers around here that get 2003-2004 bikes from the warehouse and sell them at great discounts. I think it's just to keep the sales numbers up. But they do have some good discounts. For example, in today's paper the Honda dealer has an 03 VFR800, MSRP $9999 for $7795.
Right now we are haggling over whether I want the Factory or the Tuono R. The Tuono (new, dry, 04) is less than the Honda dealer wants for 04 dry, 1000 RR. We will see where it leads. He also has a black 05 Duc 999 that is sharp. The dealer here has Aprilia, Ducati, KTM and Triumph, I figure I will spend some time here before I purchase liter bike. He does have one of the 05 MotoGP style Ducatis and it is ONLY 29,900.00!! Maybe I'll take two! :lol:twisty said:
