OK...well I decided to invest in some new parts on the 9R.

Off with the plastics...

I always wanted to stay away from the smaller chains due to reliability but I have changed my mind. So I did a 520 chain/sprocket conversion on it.

New Renthal front sprocket -1 tooth
New Renthal rear sprocket +1 tooth
New DiD 520 ERV3 chain

It all looks really sweet and the effect to the bike is amazing!!! Not too mention that the new Renthal sprockets are just amazing looking! Beyond light. Even the front sprockets were just amazingly light.

I also replaced the old stainless steel braided rear line cause it was getting burnt from the exhaust...so I replaced it and re-ran it differently.

mine came with 520 but i changed to aluminum sprockets and a gold chain. front sprocket nut is fun.

While you have your bike apart, you should get some detail cleaning/polishing done... :dthumb:

polishing...um NO! Cleaning.. I did... I cleaned out the swing arm and some other things...but I do that all the time.

The front sprocket nut isn't bad with 120# psi and a impact gun.

With the 520 and the gearing..the 9R acts like it has got a second wind in it. Not too mention acting super light in the front end...

I haven't had one of those in like forever! I had one on there from the factory but it was never replaced after a dealer took it apart. I didn't notice till like 6 months later and I figure by then who cares...I don't think I need it!

They didn't carry the brands I wanted. I wanted Renthal and DiD...so I went to a site that offered those brands, good prices, and good customer service. Not too mention Kneedraggers have one of the best sites out there...

Actually, we carry both of those brands, they just aren't on our site yet. 20,000 products left to enter in our online store and counting....

And yes, kneedraggers has a beautiful site. I tend to not like flash, but their use of it is really classy and not overdone.

Here I thought Twisty would have something good to say about me having a job well done! What was I thinking? :bonk:

MP...I spent about $425 and that was for many items. New front and rear sprockets, chain, a extra rivit link (for just in case), engine ice, alignment tool, chain rivit tool, new brake line, brake fluid, and something else... but anyway it was alot of things... oh yeah, goodridge check valve speed bleeders.

I wouldn't charge you anything but say pizza for food during the job. I had fun doing it. Working on bikes is so much better than cars!

I just wanted to point out to others how useful a muffin pan can be. :dthumb:for keepin up with nuts, bolts and other small parts.
I keep several magnetic trays just for the same thing but, every body has cups, bowls and muffin pans around the house.
