New member and new rider saying hello

I followed the invite over from the corvette forum to register here. Just bought my first bike over the weekend so I guess I'll be spending some time here looking for tips and hints to become a better rider and get the most out of the experience.
As for the bike, I bought a 2003 Yamaha YZF 600R with 1,700 miles on it. Only had it two days and have already begun using it for those little errand runs down to the corner and back and a few tours around the country roads.

Looks nice parked next to the '91 corvette in the garage, too bad they don't have a matching paint scheme. Maybe next year........

Welcome to the site and congrats on your new bike. I use mine for trips to the store too, just wear or attach a backpack. :D
Congrats on your first bike! I followed a link from the Vette Forum too. Have a '96 Vette and '96 CBR600... Maybe I need to get with the program and enter the new millenium..
Welcome. I hear ya about the color scheme matching the vette. Part of my reason for possibly buying a new R1 in Silver or an R6 in silver and flames. It would match my 96 CE with black GS wheels. :D
Congrats on the new ride...I'd rather take my bike down the store and pick up a gallen of milk, and put it in my back pack, anytime... then drive the rolling cage.....

I ride to work every chance I get... it may suck when you get there, but atleast the ride there and home is fun.. :bike: :)
Awesome bike, great choice. I'd ditch the Vette j/k, you vette guys are ok. Have fun with the new bike, let us know how its going, give us a review after you've put some more miles on it.

I like to know stuff like mileage, condition and price if you guys don't mind sharing.
Hiya, I came over from the Vette forum too. Lucky me, my bike matches my Vette. Don't have a side by side picture yet, but they are both yellow.
i too am from the corvette forum. also just bought a new 04 R1 a couple weeks ago. had 1 mile on it when i picked it up.
i am also finding myself on the bike every chance i get. its almost liberating. don't get me wrong, i still love the vettes, but as long as the suns shining i'll be on the bike.

douge,, i paid $9200 for my bike. thought it was a pretty good deal. definately a lot of bang for the buck..

I can relate. Both are completely different experiences, and both are a thrill.
