It all starts right here..Motorcycle Safety Foundation

Absolute MUST do for new riders (and once you get some experience, the Advanced Rider Class is excellent too) !! Invaluable information, skills & techniques that will last you a lifetime of riding.

Many states the courses are free, some you have to pay for, so you'd have to check the website or call them for info about that.

But NO, you don't take the beginners then go right to the advanced..especially if you're a new rider!!! There's no way you'd pass the advanced course a week or 2 after you just completed the advanced course. You need time to practice your skills and learn on your bike. The advanced course is taken on your own motorcycle, unlike the beginners course.

:iagree: :withstupi

It was free for me back in the day but not sure for it now. But like N4S said....you don't take both courses right after the other. Ride your bike and get to know it. Its going to take you a bit of time to know your bike so don't rush it.

It was $100 out in Utah, but it's only $25 in Indiana. Not sure about the advanced course.

I paid $50 in 1989 for the advanced class in NC
I meet the instructor while ridding and he told me about it and said I had no need for the beginner class.

My wife paid $175 for the beginners class in 2003.
I hate inflation!

Do you wont to know about race schools?

I just took the safty course last month. I had rode my brothers dirt bikes growing up but the course helped very much. Still learning and getting better on my ninja but at least I can ride on my own now. I came across this site and though maybe I would learn a thing or two from the people here.

It's a few long stories...

Short version...

1) I work in the gas industry and can tell you lots about it.
2) I ran out of gas once! It sucked and wasn't my best moment.
3) If you piss me off I'll gas your family!
