whoever posted that thing with the nitrous kit for sale...... Still have it.. im getting my quartly bonus at work and thinking it may be NOS time for the Z.

I don't think I would go NOS time... I would say engine work time or somin that will giveyou power all the time!! My 2 cents...

Gas

i was htinking motor first... except its 2700$ for the motorwork to get 155RWHP and 400$ to get 160HP form nos.. ive already got the PC3 and mods to suport the use of a big shot.

and if i do the motorwork my gas mileage will go to shiot on a bike thats bad on gas anywyas...i gotta be able to make 120Mi per tank or i cant go for the rides i take all summer to Cali.

Right now im only getting about a 500$ bonus net after taxes so it wont be enough to touch the motor. However i cna run 9's at the drag strip this summer with NOS.. brand new NX kit is only 359$, dry shot up to 40HP. Prob only need a 20 shot to knock 3 tenths off and hit 9s

Scott - if you interested, give Steve a call at the service shop line - 302-672-7223. We deal with Orient Express for all our drag stuff and can probably be pretty competative on price for a NOS setup (we handle a lot of local drag guys) as well as any other drag stuff you're looking for (air shift kit, etc).

Well, Scott, I just figured the sky was the limit sense it wasn't my money!! :D Bang for your buck is what you're lookin at... NOS will do er... at least till ya fry a piston or somin.... :D

keep in mind that you will still need to do the motor work. casue if u use the nitrous on a regular basis it aint gonna last long.

nirtous is only gonna be for the strip 4-6 shots a year...
and relaibility comes with bigger shots.. a 20 shot wont hurt it, now if i sprayed a 80 shot even 6 shots a year of it would weaken the internals....
but im not ognna worry about a 20 shot doing anythuign to it... and the motor work will still happen, just not yet. figure mine as well build the motor when iut needs rebuilt anywyas.. i cna put 25K mi on this bike in under 3 years easy, might rebuild then.

Nitrous kills the motor even at light burst.
Speed is addictive and the more its used the more it will be abused.
Just be ready for a new motor every time its used unless its built for it to start with. :2cents:

I have seen stock 5.0's last long time with light burst once a month or so & I've watched them melt down on the 2ed or 3ed run.

i would never think of nitrous just casue its to tempting, i would use it jsut for fun.lol

5.0 is a great motor. you can beat the piss out of it and it keeps running. i have seen 5.0 motors with 100,000+ miles on them and just put a supercharger on them and they run fine. its amazing.

Fun is what Im talking about. Its addictive.
I just used the 5.0 as an example that all motors aren't created and treated equal.

Jeeps, your talking aobut a ford and comparing it for relaiblility to anything..lol
ive seen 5.0s last 250,000 and ive sene MORE last under 100,000 till they were 100% dead. You remeember the Torture test i posted up i nthe kawi section a while back????? I'll trust hte kawi, and i cna trust it to not be used cuz a bottle full wont be on the bike unless its track time, an empty bottle wont do ya much good.
And as far as it messing up the motor.. it sprays in SUPER COLD into a ultra hot motor.. thats what weakens the metal in the rods and pistons and results in engine damage.. smaller shot, less cooling..... and a good forged set up that most sport bikes use these days will handle a lot of temp differneces.

to run a shot on a car motor doesnt compare to a bike motor... how many new cars use a all forged set up stock.. only a few. The spotrt bike motors are mostly allready built....grandted a ceramic coated piston would be good and a H beam forged rod.. but they are already MUCH stronger parts then a Civic on nos or a mustang uses even.

Hey man again just examples!
All motors aren't created and treated equal.
I love to watch the nitro bikes down at the local 1/4 straight, & have never seen one blow with the light system.
Cars on the other hand?

Just for the record;
I would never buy a bike that had signs of a nitrous kit. Not that you could really tell if everything has been uninstalled.

As far as supercharging a motor with high mileage.. if u install a TRD supercharger.. it gives ya a 12K mi warranty on the motor... even with over 100K mi.... Ford or no other factory charger(that ive come across) will warranty a 100K mi motor for an extra 12K if u forcefeed it at 8lbs.

no i wouldent expect them to warrenty a motor i just think the 5.0 is an amasing motor. given the right parts you can get a shiot load of hp from it.
