The thread that he put up not too long ago about riding a group of riders that humbled him, etc. Well that was me this weekend. When DJ and I ride together, we know what each other's gonna go, we hang with each other on the straights as well as the twisty's. Ive been riding a long time now, not always sportbikes though, but still, riding nonetheless. This weekend, the WOS guys really showed us alittle thing or two. Dyno,ULOOZ, & Gas Man are some pretty accomplished riders, to say the least. Hittin corners hot left n right, & nearly leaving a vapor trail on the straights! I had a blast, there's no doubt, and I learned alot just riding with them, as well as talking with them. Hearing their stories, talking about WOS, and bikes/riding in general.

I thought of myself as a pretty OK rider, been doing it since I was seventeen, everything from ATC's all the way thru streetbikes. Read as much as I can, and gleen every bit of knowledge from riders as possible.

I'll admit, I definately felt behind the times, for lack of a better term, this weekend. Be humbled can be a interesting experience, to say the least. But thats not too say the WOS guys were anything less than the perfect guests in our town. Very respectful of us, our families, and our town, fun guys to be around, good conversation, and some great riding...btw the weather cooperated nicely this weekend..couldnt ask for anything more.

I know what I gotta do before deals gap this spring/summer for the rally. 1. get set of full leathers & boots; Dyno had a sweet new joe rocket 1 piece suit he broke out this weekend when he got here, and chris was in a rocket jacket/pants. 2..do a track day b/4 then, stevenmd, you'll have to hook me up in the spring man! :cool: 3. keep on reading/posting on TWF and pumpin u guys for info on the things I need to work on.

Twisty...you're boys represented in a Stellar manner! You should be proud of em!!!

Thanks again WOS for coming down to visit our area, and for the rides, and great fun that was had this weekend. Wouldnt have changed a thing! :dthumb:

Hey N4S;
Just remember that you don't have to be the fastest, & and you don't have to drag a knee in the corners.
Leathers are a must if you plan on trying this. Maybe a faster bike LOL.

Track days are the best place to do all this.
They will teach you how to bee safe on the twisties.

Don't forget that its just fun.
Your probley no't getting paid to ride!

OYea!!!
I have a AGV two piece for sale!!
Full armor and 360 zip on the pant & jacket

Yup. Always ride your own ride. I'm one of the slowest guys in my group. I'm not willing to go balls out around blind corners. No biggie. Just don't let your ego get in the way of your ride!

You easterners are lucky! Lots of tracks close by!

Yup! As soon as your ego takes control and you get competitive on the street, it's not fun, it's just plain dangerous!

I agree with you all, and I didnt go above my limits on the twisties, I stayed in the back and just followed thier tail lights as best I could. They were great to ride with, and wouldnt have changed it for the world, I really did learn alot.

I have no problems going fast, its such an adrenaline rush for me, so keeping up with them on the highway was no big deal, we all took turns leading and it was all good.

Plus the fact about the leathers, yes, since I didnt have them, I was alittle extra cautious, more than usual, since we were up in the back twisties in lancaster that I wasnt too familier with, couple that with all the horse n buggies, cows, and shiet (literarlly) on the road, and that was reason enuff to play it safe.

The important thing is, they had fun, and I had fun, and we got to hang out as well...and in the end, having fun is really all that matters.

thanks stevenmd, I'll be lookin forward to that track time/riding with ya..

Jeeps84, thanks for the pics of the leathers. whats the size, etc. of them... PM if you like!

thanks!

I don't think I can say it and better then what N4S did. The WOS guys were great to ride with. If you haven't done so, you need to read the thread about TWF/WOS meet. It will tell you about the whole weekend. Anyways.

Riding with them diffenately show me and Matt that we have a lot more to learn. As he said, we know how each other rides and that makes a huge difference when riding. Our local twistys are great for us. We are used to them and know how they are. We will be hitting the track diffenately to be ready for Deals next year. :dthumb:

Glad you guys had fun out there. I love riding twisty roads, but I don't ride them as hard as I ride at the track. The biggest problem(s) with back roads are gravel, animals, and idiots. You never know when you're going to come around a corner and find something in the road, or some idiot in your lane.

Ditches, banks, cliffs, trees, guard rails, etc. :luck:

What is you definition of loser? :confused:
Webster's is
los'er; to fail to win:

When you ride on the street there is no first! :rant:
Now if you go home with a broken bike, in a cast or even worse a body bag. I'm pretty sure you lost. :smash:

OK;
Sorry for the rant but, I had to say that!
I just hate to see riders go down for riding over there head. :nono:
I lost one friend from this. He was chasing me.

Bad or good;
I don't know, I find myself refusing to ride with guys or gals with lesser ability.
If I know them well, I will put them on point and ride at there pace.

I just love to go fast and don't won't a repeat of what happened in 96.
