Yamaha Motor Company is pleased to announce its AMA Roadracing plans for 2006 that will be centered around the introductions of both the all-new YZF-R6 and the new race-specYZF-R1 LE. Veteran rider and 2003 Supersport Champion Jamie Hacking returns to Team Blue and White competing on the potent new R6 in the AMA Supersport Class and the new R1 LE in the Superstock Class.
:disapp: WTF is the point of putting out such a nice machine as the R1 LE, and then racing yourself on it. They obviously don't think they can compete with Suzuki, Ducati, Kawi, Honda, so they enter the lower support classes... is it just so they can still say "blah blah champions" in their ads after they clean up next season? They WILL clean up, they are the only factory in Superstock or supersport now, I do believe.

Oh yeah, and EBos is riding for them now.

It will win, because they will be a factory backed team racing against a bunch of privateers! It will be just like FX was last year with Honda the only manufacturer in it... the Duhamel and Zemke show!

hehe yeah thats what I was thinking too :) Its nothing against the bikes though, the 06 models are amazing, its the execs that decide what classes they will be racing that my beef is with!

You are so quick to judge. Yes of course it caught my eye. I had to dig deeper to see what it was about.

Pickle you are 150% absolutely correct - they are pussies. WTF? Why not lay it out there and see how it competes against the big boys? Because they fugged over all the good riders and pissed everyone off? They don't care about it? They just want to put it up in ads misrepresenting like you say? That is not cool at all. Good call Pickle - they need to get their shiznit together.

My old boss once, at my dismay and at an inopportune time, once said in a meeting with high level Ford and Lear executives - "you lay your dick on the table and I'll lay mine on there and whoevers is bigger wins". Hang it out there, let the breeze hit it and see who salutes mfrs.. I am highly disappointed in team blue / white. :sorry:    :iagree:

That mabye why nobody takes the R1 seriously off the street. The factory wont even bet on it. im rusty on my WSB, but doesnt Yamaha have a factory team there? I know they atleast compete...

I just can't wait to see what the R6 does.

:iagree: but from the looks of it, we wont be seeing too much. MAybe they are waiting to see how others fare on thier bikes first in other classes? Dont know, not too knowledgable on how MC politics work other than on the track, and what the commentators talk about.

If you look a lil disalvo's times during last years qualifying in superstock you'll see he was fast enough to get on the first row for several superbike races. How much faster would he be with Ohlins superbike forks some serious engine mods and a set of slicks?

It has pretty much been answered by them, they say that they spent so much time and energy (and $$) on the new R6, that they want to show what it can do. My are they going to be embarrased when Miguel and Jake spank them all over the track at the Daytona 200!

Kawi and Roger Lee Hayden are in supersport this year....considering he was #2 behind his borhter last year, he'll give the Yamaha a run at it, and i think whats his name... the young Suzuki rider... the guy that took third... hes still gonna be riding supersport.. The R6 is gonna have to work for that title.

This is crazy. Saying they spent alot of jack on this bike is like saying you need food to survive. No $H!T. Every manufacturer spends crazy jack on their rides. If they want to see what the R6 can do, quite jacking off and go race with the big boys, big boi. :moped:

Right, Kawi is racing supersport, but not Formula Xtreme. The only competition the R6 will really have in FX is at the 200 when Zemke and Duhamel race in FX, other than that it will be Erion Honda as the biggest threat probably.

original post didnt mention FX...so i just didnt post aobut it, i dont follow it htough like i do the supersport AMA races.

once a bike is heavily modified, i htink theyll still be near equal bikes nad its gonna be rider vs rider.... Yamaha does have a tedencie to buy the best riders in the name of selling bikes versus letting the bike prove it self like Kawi and Honda tend to do when they can.

Yep, sorry bout that, they will be doing Superstock on the R1 LE with Jason Disalvo, Jamie Hacking, and Eric Bostrom. Bostrom and Disalvo will be doing FX on the R6, and Hacking will be doing supersport on the R6 as well.

Yes, looking forward to seeing what the R6 can do, and there will be some good racing in supersport, you are right, but I am still a firm believer that Superbike should be the top class with the top riders, and all the others support classes that the lesser and younger riders are until they prove they are ready for superbike.

Anyway, original full article was here: http://superbikeplanet.com/2005/Oct/051031v.htm
