How different is a '02 750 SS compared to a 749? Is it the predecessor to the current production 749? Thanks and Ride ON!!!
They are not similar. The SS is an air cooled, 2 valve motor making approx 64hp. its more of the starter Ducati. The 749 is a liquid cooled 4 valve, and making 108hp. It is the race bike of the 2 and depending on the model (Dark, 749, 749S, 749R) the fork is 43mm, fully adjustable, with or without TiN coating.

Dilla is on it.
The SS is also more street friendly vs. the 748/749. Some like the styling more of one than the other but, the 74?'s and 99?'s are bossily race bikes and don't like to be ridden any other way. i.e.. ridding position and power.
