Do any of you dismount your own tires???I'd do the whole thing myself too if I knew I could do it safely without bending the lip, specifically, what tools(make and model) do you use???SVupON1 said:I can see that larryg and it make perfect since...I patch my own tires anyway....

Very true. We had someone call us for a tire patch kit one time and I asked him "what is it for?" He thought I was nuts, but he told me it was for keeping on his bike in case he gets a flat while out riding. I explained to him that for that purpose it's ok, but we don't sell patch kits for the purpose of patching a tire, and we won't patch tires at the shop for the exact reason that Larry mentioned. It is a liability.larryg said:I'm not saying I have ever had a patch fail (or even heard a first-hand story of one failing), I'm just saying that very few businesses are willing to take the risk.

EDIT: The thing you need to consider is if YOU are willing to take the risk...
Many times!JEKYLL said:Hey jeeps..have you patched a tire before, and how long did it last???
Better thank twice about that one. If you can even find a tube to fit your tire.JEKYLL said:A tube...A tube...why didn't I think of this before...A tube!!! :bonk:
