OK I got someone that is willing to pay for my old fairings. I want to go the paypal route but have never used it other than on ebay. Is there a way to receive funds through it from a private sale, not on ebay, or am I outta luck?

Has anyone ever done this? What do I need to do to receive the funds?

TIA for any help.

Yes it can be done... and Its easy.

2 different ways..

Send him a money request to his email address for his paypal account.

or

Just have him "send money" to your paypal account.

Click thru the proper things that any ebayer should be able to figure out easily... its self explainitary... DL... PM me if you have any more questions and maybe you can just call me...

DL, I sold almost all my SV parts off the svrider forum, and almost everything was paid for thru PAYPAL estimated $4,000 worth of funds. Basically your email address is your accout ID. Then you can transfer or withdraw the funds right to your bank account. It take 3 days or so for it to post to your bank account. Its really simple.

Well, i sold my rashed upper cowl, middle and lower fairing for $220. Paypal is showing the payment completed and also the withdrawal from paypal to my account completed. But the money isn't showing up in my bank account online yet. Should I be worried or just wait until midnight, when their system updates? The thing is, it's midnight where my bank is right now. i guess I'll wait a little while longer. i might have to put a call into UPS and have 'em turn around.

Paypal says, " withdraw to bank may take up to 3 business days to complete. Dont turn the truck around you will be fine. The money is there. Just give it a couple days

You're good once it's in the paypal account, it just takes a couple days to get to your bank account. You don't really need to wait for it to get to your bank account. Paypal is quite reputable and I don't think I've heard of any problems.

Actually once the money is in you paypal you should send it, you have been paid. ANy problems after that are on your end and your buyer is not responsible and should not have to wait. Buyers "instant" payment happend.:2cents:
