I didn't know where to go yesterday, but I had to ride. The sun was out, the temps were climbing and it was a fantastic PNW day. I rode out through the Orting valley, found some AWESOME bike roads!! (twisties, long sweepers, they were all there). When I finally ran out of real road, I kept going. What I found was that the little SV is even fun on gravel/dirt/DRY logging roads
Below are some pictures from my little adventure:
Mt Rainier from the Orting Valley-
Mt Rainier hiding in the clouds. There hadn't been lines or a shoulder on the road for several miles at this point. You can see the condition of the road a little, here-
Once I left anything even remotely resembling tarmac, I reached what felt like the edge of the world. You could see for DAYS off into the distance -
Here's a shot of where I was headed. As you can see, this isn't what you'd call sportbike friendly
And finally, a really great view of the mountain that my perseverence paid off with. This was about 8mi further up the road and around several corners -
It all made for a GREAT day and a good 200mi ride all together. I hope to talk a couple of riding friends into coming out and at least experiencing the asphalt out that direction! Hope you all had a great day, also.
