I didn't know where to go yesterday, but I had to ride. The sun was out, the temps were climbing and it was a fantastic PNW day. I rode out through the Orting valley, found some AWESOME bike roads!! (twisties, long sweepers, they were all there). When I finally ran out of real road, I kept going. What I found was that the little SV is even fun on gravel/dirt/DRY logging roads :D Below are some pictures from my little adventure:

Mt Rainier from the Orting Valley-

Mt Rainier hiding in the clouds. There hadn't been lines or a shoulder on the road for several miles at this point. You can see the condition of the road a little, here-

Once I left anything even remotely resembling tarmac, I reached what felt like the edge of the world. You could see for DAYS off into the distance -

Here's a shot of where I was headed. As you can see, this isn't what you'd call sportbike friendly

And finally, a really great view of the mountain that my perseverence paid off with. This was about 8mi further up the road and around several corners -

It all made for a GREAT day and a good 200mi ride all together. I hope to talk a couple of riding friends into coming out and at least experiencing the asphalt out that direction! Hope you all had a great day, also.

SV, yeah...the gravel part was really an 'adventure' to say the least. But the roads up until it turns to gravel were designed, I think, by a rider. :D Some of the coolest twisties and all that I've ridden yet. I'm going to go back and try to pay more attention for places to pull off and get some shots of the roads out there.

Gas, when the weather turns nice out here there are roads all over the place that afford that kind of scenery! :)
