Hey, just wanted to let people know that I have noticed a number of bikes on eBay with incredible prices that dissappear within a few hours (auction pulled by ebay). I had emailed one person for details on the bike and shipping terms and they tried to get me into a wire transfer deal out of the country, but with a crazy low "buy it now". I tried to look the bike back up on eBay and it was gone (auction vanished).
I then found another bike with a similar crazy deal, this time spelled out in the auction (I had to email to get this great pitch the first time), again this one disappeared in a couple hours - I had decided to watch it for kicks. I don't know for certain if any of these are legit (I'm not risking my $$ to find out), but based on the deals the people are either smoking crack or running a scam.
It appears eBay is on to these characters (the auctions don't stay up long). However, I am sure it only takes a couple hours to get a bunch of people to see your "auction" and scam some serious coin through offshore wire transfers... hmmm that reminds me, I think I have a bike for sale. It's real nice, just out of the country (like me as soon as I get your money). In fact if you wire all your money, your credit card numbers, mother's maiden name, and the contents of your kid's piggy bank; I will throw in some beautiful ocean front property just outside of Phoenix... Yeah that's the ticket....
Just wanted to warn everyone to be cautious. Happy Holidays!
