Hey, just wanted to let people know that I have noticed a number of bikes on eBay with incredible prices that dissappear within a few hours (auction pulled by ebay). I had emailed one person for details on the bike and shipping terms and they tried to get me into a wire transfer deal out of the country, but with a crazy low "buy it now". I tried to look the bike back up on eBay and it was gone (auction vanished).

I then found another bike with a similar crazy deal, this time spelled out in the auction (I had to email to get this great pitch the first time), again this one disappeared in a couple hours - I had decided to watch it for kicks. I don't know for certain if any of these are legit (I'm not risking my $$ to find out), but based on the deals the people are either smoking crack or running a scam.

It appears eBay is on to these characters (the auctions don't stay up long). However, I am sure it only takes a couple hours to get a bunch of people to see your "auction" and scam some serious coin through offshore wire transfers... hmmm that reminds me, I think I have a bike for sale. It's real nice, just out of the country (like me as soon as I get your money). In fact if you wire all your money, your credit card numbers, mother's maiden name, and the contents of your kid's piggy bank; I will throw in some beautiful ocean front property just outside of Phoenix... Yeah that's the ticket....

Just wanted to warn everyone to be cautious. Happy Holidays!

Oh yes. Very aware of these on there. When Matt and I were looking for our bikes we found so many on there with great prices like $3500 or $4000 for a brand new 2004 GSXR1000 or something like that and they all gave us the same MO. I just moved out of country and if you send me the money western union with someone elses name I will send you the bike and you release the money to me. :bash: I don't think so. All they need is the name it is going to and where it is to be picked up at and its theres. I hate ppl like this. :bash: :bash:

Yeah those scams are a bunch of crap and it happens with a lot of things on Ebay. I remember all of the crap that you were going through DJ when you would email people and they would be like well I am out of the country what a load of crap. :bash: I have seen a lot of people lose money on Ebay I rarely use it anymore. Ebay should really crack down on that

EBay does crack down on it, by taking the auctions down. It is one of the downfalls of having a site that is pretty much ran on its own!!

I know someone in Miami that got burned for 3000 for a bike in Canada on E-bay He should have known something was up when they wanted to correspond through hotmail and didn't "want to pay the fee for paypal." If they don't want to use ebay or paypal to do the deal...It's a scam.
