Former NHL Tough Guy Arrested in Delray BeachBy West Palm Beach Associated Press
WJHG-TVJun 4, 2004 - Former NHL tough guy Bob Probert is in jail Friday in Delray Beach after a scuffle with police that led to him being shocked with a Taser gun.
Officers say they saw Probert as he parked his car on the wrong way of street and hanged out of his window as he yelled at several men early this morning.
A police report says the 38-year-old Probert tried to fight with one of the men, then fought with officers
Police hit him several times with a Taser gun, which shoots barbed probes that give the recipient a usually non-lethal but incapacitating shock.
Probert, who listed his alias as "The Bad One" on booking documents, was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence and disorderly conduct.
Probert played 17 seasons with the NHL. He has been charged several times with driving under the influence and has substance abuse problems in his past.
In his career he had 163 goals and 384 points, and his 3,300 penalty minutes in 935 games rank him fourth on the NHL's all-time penalty minutes list.
