Sweet! It's only 2034.14 miles away. I'm gonna leave now!
LMMFAO! I remember the 3 hours 250 miles drive from KY it was easy to make speed runs, now its 10 hours away and 609 miles away its not so easy.

I'm not scared, I got cruise control. that's a big help. Not 2000 miles big though.
Now after driveing 10 hours to the GAP a few times a year I always wonder if its worth it....as soon as I unload the bike and take the first curve and drag a knee I say, "Yup its well worth it" :dthumb:

I'm sure it'd be worth it for me to head way out there. Just don't have the funds to do it. i will be out there sooner or later though. Proly on my R1 (that I haven't bought yet).
I rode down one time granted it was only 3 hours, but all interstate sucked, i was so worn out by the time I got there. I still rode hard once I got there. I will never ride down again, it was hard on the tires, and now its just way too long being 10 hours away. When I buy my 07 R1 its getting trucked down.

Truckin is the way to go. Being on the road for that long increases the chances of getting bumped off. I'm hoping my r1 will be an 06. Depends on how much I make when I get deployed.
you should wait till 07 when the all new re-design should come out. If you don't liket he 07, then you can atleast get a good deal on a left over 06, or slightly used 06. That is my plan. After watching the R1's video on yamaha's site and seeing they have their $hit down right, I can't wait to see whats in store for 07.

You deffinately(sp) make a good point, but i don't think I can hold on to that cash for that long. the only thing i didn't really like about the 04's was the tall first gear but they took care of that in 05 I think. Plus the longer I keep my R6 the more miles I'm gonna put on it and lessen the trade value. i'm sitting at 13K now and i haven't even had it for a year yet. I'm hoping it's good looks will help get a good deal come trade in time. We'll see.

its killing me waiting until 07, but I don't ever plan on dumping the SV it will be my track bike when I get the R1. I have been saying since 04 I will by the 07 R1, I just don't want to buy an 06 and something better comes out granted its going to happen anyway. Its just like buying something i.e car, stereo, computer...as soon as you buy something better comes out then you wanna kick your self in the @ss for not waiting.

True. Plus if i make my next rank I'll have even more money to put down. I'm pretty sure an 06 is in my future. Maybe i can sell the 6 to some tool for 6500 or something.

I just hate how the value drops like a rock on a new bike, my best friend bought his 04 R6 last year and it only worth a little over half of what he paid now. My SV is still worth more that what I paid for it. The guy I bought it from almost had it paid off he just didn't have time to ride it and only had 5k miles on it and he wanted to buy a new honda S2000 so all he wanted was pay off to get rid of the payment. My credit union wrote his bank a pay off check.

How many miles was on his R6? i brought mine in for kicks at 8K. I was seeing if I could get a fair trade for an 03 R1 and he said that it would be about 3K difference to include taxes and all that. So it was worth at least 7K. I wonder how much i could get now. I've done a few more mods to it and that can only help. My dealer isn't bad at all. i'm in there at least twice a week. that reminds me, I have to pick up my repack kit.

he's probably got 6k on it now give or take a little. He tore the entire bike down over the winter and did every mod. slide stops, V-stacks, speedo healer, power commander, BMC race filter, full brake upgrade, steel braided lines, 520 sprocket and chain conversion and some other things. Now the only problem is he is getting a "bucking" while rideing, he took it in for a custom map thru every RPM and still having the problem. He has tripple checked everything. His main problem is he did all these mods at one time in the winter and never got to ride it until spring when everything was done. Now he really doesn't know where to look. He thinks he has a faulty power commander, but the bike will not run with all the mods and no power commander, so he's really in a tight spot on this.

All that and they would only give him about half? that's crazy. It's too bad he's not in Vegas. Dynojet is based out of Vegas and could remap or fix it for free. They mapped mine for free. I only got a slip-on and a K&N so no big difference but i DIDN'T TRUST THE DEALERS MAP CUZ I COULDN'T FIND THE ONE I WANTED ON THEIR WEBSITE SO WHY WOULD MY DEALER HAVE IT? NICE PEOPLE.

no the shop he took it to litterly did a custom map for the bike, they tried everything possible to get the bike running right, it just wasn't happening. i forgot to mention he has a micron exhaust too, but thats beside the point. He did all the work him self, and the shop said they don't see anything wrong at all with his work. I know the shop worked on his bike for 3 or 4 hours, they didn't try to just load some BS in his power commander.
