I'm sure we've all experience a red light that wouldn't change because our MC weren't enough metal to set off the sensor.

I've heard "Rare Earth" magnets will do this if attached to the bike frame. True?

Hell I'll try anything...i ran into that problem today again, on my way into work..had to turn around and go down a back down an alley, and then wait in traffic.. :rant:

Supposedly any type of magnet works. On the bottom of the bike somewhere, or the bottom of your boot or something.

CAUTION: I'm sure most of you heard about the "Green Light Trigger"........STAY AWAY FROM IT! I got one and it didn't do JACK $]-[!T. All its good for is collecting rust. not even a week after i installed mine(bottom fairing under the exhaust pipes/oil filter,zip tied to the metal bracket that holds both side of the fairing together) all i got was rust from the magnet itself! yanked that POS off since it didnt made a difference(atleast not that i've noticed). IMHO, you can use a magnet from any speaker and it should work the same(if it even works) just try and find the strongest magnet you can to have a better chance of it working. I've been trying tons of different types of magnets but found none to my satisfaction yet. i'll update you guys if i find anything. FYI, try and go to an ARMY SURPLUS or better , go to AMERICAN SCIENCE AND SURPLUS(if you have one where you live) its a good place to find just about anything!

Hmmm. .

FWIW some lights can change if you flash them. We used to do that quite a bit in highschool when we were coming up to a red. . just flash your brights fairly quickly at them for a couple seconds. They were triggered by this b/c they were programed to responde to ambulance lights, etc. I haven't done that in a while and I don't know if it's a local thing or not.

yeah I will..Im putting on the screen mesh on my bike on sunday, so I'll see what I can figure out with this whole magnet thing as well. Shouldnt be difficult at all.

As far as the flashing headlight option, yeah, I do that, but doesnt always work, but it works often enough, for me, to warrant my continued use of it. I find that if I just sit there at the light, it won't do it, but if I start to flash as Im pulling up the light, it works better.
