Just read on the triple forum that Bill's drag bike has been recovered :cheers:

Bill B said:
Well guys, we got the bike and trailer back about an hour ago. The way it went down was sooo cool. I called the detective and she says hello, we are working the case and are on a property with one perp in custody. The guy we are looking for is around here somewhere but there is a lot of woods and...wait, they are bringing him out of the house in cuffs (he was hiding under a bed). She asks me if we had any team shirts in the trailer, we did I say, He is wearing one, she says.....please hold a minute Mr. Baxter....then I hear those magic words.....

“You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law”

I knew they were close. She talks to the guy for a minute and I hear him say that he took the bike and trailer from a meth dealer to keep it safe and it turns out he stole it from the guy who stole it, he was a dragbike fan and wanted the bike. He asked the office if he thought it would be ok to ask me for an autograph !!!! The officer said no and take that shirt off. Made him stand in the 40 degree rain with just some jeans and tennis shoes. I still wanted to smash his face.

Lots more to the story but thought I would let you guys know that the bike is home and in one piece, barely a scratch on it, the trailer is trashed, close to totaled and there was nothing in it but the bike and some debris from ripping all the cabinets out but the bike is untouched.

One of the guys on the triple forum had his race trailer, drag bike and contents stolen after he left for work :cursin:

The drag bike is a Kawasaki Triple.

Thieves hit my house today while I was at work and got everything, bike, trailer, pit bike, generator even the lawn chairs. Took everything race related including our record setting bike. Please keep your eyes open for them;

Appears that they were watching the house and hit it right after my youngest left at 9:30 am. The only spark of hope is that they dropped a very fancy chrome cigarette lighter, the policeman's eyes lit up when he saw it.
If you see anything, contact Bill here ---> [email protected]

Thanks
Jeff

Sometimes I wish Voodoo curses were real... because whoever stole your trailers balls would be turning green and falling off! Thieves deserve to get ass raped by the biggest bubba there is.

Here's one quote from Bill's posting today.

The worst part is the feeling of helplessness, I have pulled the muscles in my neck looking into everyone's backyard just hoping to catch a quick look at my trailer. The police were surprised at the crime, said it was very uncommon for this type of crime.

There are so many custom parts in this trailer that it should be hard to sell any of it, including this little starter cart, only one of its kind.

This is the entire race rig:

And a bigger shot of the bike:

Shame he wasn't at home. In Texas, it's legal to shoot thieves stealing your property. :dthumb:

It may be gay, but as the economy goes down the tubes and un-employment goes up... theft will rise. I got one word... insurance... get it, carry it with high limits

:iagree: Lowlife's are affected by the economy too.

Bill's well insured but there are literally thousands of hours in that dragbike. If he gets paid off instead of a recovery, it'll be a lot of time with a new bike to bring it back to the top of his class again.

I'll check to see if he has anymore pics up at the triple forum.

Here's some pictures of some of the "one-offs" he had made for the bike.

The starter cart is the only one of its kind, just look for the cheezy welds:

The sticker on the back door is probably gone already but its one of a kind:

Chris Ritchie made this slider cover, the only one of its kind:

Greig Frankham made this side cover, the only one of its kind:

Paul Kondracki at Fabrication Motorsports made the rear axle and brake hanger/bolts, they are all one-off.

dude... I can't imagine what he's feeling right now... I just hope the cops catch the guys before they sell it... wouldn't want Bill to go vigilante on someone and end up dealing with more BS :2cents:

Bill is bummed about having his stuff stolen but the outpouring from the triple guys ( and gals) has lifted his spirits. The reward for the safe return is over $2000 and they're selling T-Shirts to help him get going again.

Bill said since he's covered by insurance and getting it back (Positive thinking :dthumb: ), he'll donate the money to a worthy charity.

More than a few people have offered to "help" :whistle: him take care of the thieves.

The thieves are lucky they weren't shot. In Texas, you are allowed to use deadly force to protect your property.

You'd have to pay them off twice. First time to shoot them and a second time to get away :whistle:

~~~~~~~~~~
Bill still hasn't heard anything yet. He's trying to "light a fire" under the police to get something done. Tomorrow he going to "chew" ( in a kind and considerate way ) on a detective's ear and see if that works better to get something going.
