Report: Teen Was Driving 108 MPH In Crash That Killed 6
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- A teenage driver was drunk and driving 108 mph when he crashed into another car at a suburban intersection, killing himself and five others, a police report released Thursday concluded.
Anthony Anderson Reynolds, 18, of Miramar, had a blood-alcohol content of .11 percent when he slammed his 1995 Nissan Altima into a Mitsubishi Galant driven by Marcela Juana Scotto Laos, 36, of Deerfield Beach last Jan. 30. Florida's limit is .08 percent for drivers 21 and over.
Reynolds and three of his teenage passengers died from their injuries, along with Laos and her passenger. One teenager in Reynolds' car survived.
The teens had been party hopping before the 3:30 a.m. crash, while Laos and her passenger, 41-year-old Nancy Kalmer of Margate, had been out dancing.
Laos had no alcohol in her system, police said.
