if the entire parking area is filled up, is it a considered a faux pau to double up on parking your MC with someone you dont know? (if they they were there first)

Also, when riding around and visiting bike shops, is it a faux to start trying on helmets, after you just took yours off and hair is still damp??

All I ever say is "if it would offend you or you even think it is offence dont do it." If the action comes with little or no thought then it is more natural. :2cents:

In other words of my post, NO and Hell NO!!
I dont even like to try on helmets off the rack because of some sweat head being in it first. If I see a hair in it I put it right back. Look for a box. :2cents:

I'd say, no to the parking lot thing; though I'd do everything to avoid it. I wouldn't want to infringe on the 'space' around the bike. I do know if someone parked next to me, I'd probably get a grin out of it.

As far as the helmet thing... I think it's tacky to insert your sweaty noggin into an, otherwise, clean helmet. But, that's me...

I don't like to put my sweaty noggin in my helmet, let alone one in a store...I have double parked...I just make sure my space mate has plenty of room to move ...just don't steal the covers...

Ditto here.

There are times you can't avoid double parking, and in truth, I'd think it would be courteous to park off to one side of a parking spot, so as to ALLOW for another bike to share the spot if necessary... but that's just me.
:iagree: I myself wont mind if they doubled up, as long as they leave room for me to exit. :dthumb: But, I would not do it to another rider.

As for the helmet thing, I thought it would be tacky as well for people to try on helmets at stores after just riding in with theirs.

Depends who has the cooler bike. I personally park on the sidewalk but then again I'm an A-hole. If a buissness dosnt have a motorcycle parking area I'm parking by the front door.

I'm sorry but if there are little to no parking available, I'll park next to the bike as long as he can get out easily.

Trying on helmets..... I hate to do so regardless of my head condition!

How about this one:

a bike that is parked horizontally in a parking spot (in other words, perpendicular with the other parked cars) and then some compact car squeezes in, barely a few inches from the bike in the same spot!!! I saw that dumb B***h today at school parking lot. I see that mid 90's zx10R there all the time, and she was just too lazy to find another spot and walk. The worst thing is, the bike guy parks in the farthest spot in that section so that he doesnt waste a good front spot. I thought that was typical fresh out of high school driving...that pissed me off and it wasnt even my bike :cursin:
