We were talkin about borowing other peoples bikes... and got me thinkin!

I've always thought this way...

That if you borrow a guys bike or switch bikes... and wreck his bike, then he gets to completely borrow your bike till his gets out of the shop. And this would go vis versa... a basic understanding... it's only fair!

Have you guys heard of this?

Do you agree with it or not?

Gas...never heard that one before, but always had the rule
"you ride it, you break it, you bought it" or pay to fix it.

Most guys that ride are well aware of that..... it's the ones that don't ride or own a bike that crash your shyyt and then look all suprized when you ask them to pay for it. :bash:

That's why very few get to ride my toys...

Makes sense to me. However, I've only let two people ride my R6 since I bought it and both are my brothers. I let anyone ride the Katana and I even tought my brother-in-law the basics (he'd never ridden before), but I won't be letting anyone else ride the 6.

I've heard this from even HD guys...

It's only fair don't you think? Just think that way, while your bike is in the shop cause one of your buddies wrecked it, you can ride his!

I wouldn't let anybody that doesn't own a bike ride it, unless it's like my father or somin... but I would even let Twisty ride my bike as long as he accepts the code that I speak of... right?!?!?!?!?!

I have always use the rule of thumb that if you can't afford to replace it don't ask, that being said at the end of of every Christian Sport bike rally we have all switched bikes, I have ridden just about ever bike there that has interested me, I am fortunate that I have as many people willing to let me ride their bike, I have couple of things going for me, motorcycle shop owner, instructor, and I can afford to replace what I ride. I often wonder how someone choses what bike to buy, I buy and sell bikes so I often just buy what I have always wanted to try with the exception of Ducati, "with a tube frame there is no way to tell if they are junk without computrack looking at it" I have thought many times that I would like a particular bike only to find that I didn't care for it at all . Biggest disappointment RC 51 Biggest surprise Honda XX Black Bird.

If someone wants to ride one of my bikes I am usually cool with it, I won't let someone touch the R1 unless they have ridden something close to it and have a fair amount of experience, the Motard I have had a waiting line of people who took turns ripping up the Dragon with it last year, I think at least ten people took it from one end to the other If I go to a rally I try and bring a spare bike so that if someone goes down and wrecks at least there vaction will not be ruined by having no bike to ride, last year I brought my GSXR 750 track bike and sure enough by the third day some one was using it, after they lost their FZ1 over a bank after hitting some gravel in the corner

I always practiced the code of "I'll let you borrow my bike or tools if you let me borrow your wife or girlfriend."
Sounds good to me.. Like the way you think Bee.. lol..

I usually say sure you can ride it, give me $5,000 to hold until you bring it back unscathed and when you bring it back I will give you the money back..
