won't thick soled boots be awkward feeling for you? i bought a pair of harley boots once and i returned them. the soles were so thick i could barely wedge the boot between the shifter and peg. maybe if i took the time to break them in, but i didn't. i just wear sneakers. it's most comfortable to me for everyday riding purposes, even if it isn't the best choice of footwear. but i know that won't work in your case for a track day.
