[Suzuki GS500f]

I got ALOT of credit left on my suzuki card left and was wondering what brand of gear I should buy, I want everything from the helmet to the boots. I don't need top of the line but something nice and safe also. OPINIONS are welcome, but please do bash when someone does leave an opinion you do not agree with....Thx...

I second that.
Manufactures that make gear don't tend to stay in business long if they make crap. Stick to brands that you've at least heard of. People may say what gear fit well or lasted the longest. But the endless debate would be which brand of helmet is best or ect... The stuff that protects the best is the stuff that fits you the best. If it is too small it will not be comfortable, and you probably wont wear it. If it is too large, it will likley slide off when you need it the most.

Hit up a bike shop and try some stuff on. When you buy gear you get what you paid for. A decent jacket will run ya from 200 plus. definately look at the reviews.

I would only like to add that when you go to the shops to try these things on, make sure you go in the types of clothing you'd be wearing on the bike. I sometime ride in the cool winter months so finding a jacket that is comfortable in the summer, or with a few layers on in the winter is very important.

Also bring your bike if possible so you can sit on it w/ the gear on.

i can tell you what not to buy- Icon Super Duty short glove. Came apart at the seams. But their Neo Daytona (older) jacket has proven very durable.

I agree with the others..try the gear on, read the reviews, and A*'s are awesome, and Icon sucks. Some other decient stuff is joe rocket.

I gots those gloves too. The shorty version without the gauntlets though. Had 'em for around 12-14 months and they are still kickin strong. They leather faded and that's it. Very happy with 'em.

I would be cautious about no name stuff but, that doesn't mean its not any good. With that said. Joe Rocket makes some cheap junk as well. They also make some of the best gear on the market. If your willing to pay for it.
Icon is not favorered in my house along with First Gear. I am a big fan of Alpinestars products.

i love ALpine stars too, dressed in it for everything except boots cuz i got a way better deal on the Tecknic boots i bought. But ive gotr the Astars SP-1 and SP-2 gloves.. sp-1 is more protective but i find em less comfy....the 2s feel much nicer.
