He's been hard at practice and I have come accross a spy photo of such activities...

Rossi & F1

Rossi impresses in F1 from mcn

Valentino Rossi has proven that he is not just messing around with Formula 1, finishing his latest test session at Valencia just one second behind Ferraris top driver Michael Schumacher.
The MotoGP world champion started the test badly, spinning his car on the first lap of the first day but his second attempt was much more successful.
Rossi drove a 2004 Ferarri while the rest of the drivers were in the latest machines yet he still managed to set a time just one second off Schumacher and finish ninth out of 15.
He beat established drivers like David Coulthard and Jarno Trulli. Rossi’s best lap around the circuit was 1.11.814.
Rossi is scheduled to test with Ferrari throughout 2006 but it is still unclear whether he has decided to make the move to the sport when his Yamaha contract runs out at the end of the year.
Rossi also has a keen interest in Rallying, recently beating the likes of Colin McRae at a demonstration event in Monza, Italy.

He did race 4 wheels before 2, so this doesn't surprise me. Plus racing talent transitions really well, Jeff Gordon was able to run these cars within the times of F1 stars when he tested one at Indy. Not to mention the onboard computers that control just about everything on the car making a decent driver incredible.

computers didnt help much on his first test day, spinning out frequently. But apparently thats how he learns, takes it to the edge and works back from there. Didnt he test some WRC cars a year ago?

computers help everyone not just Rossi in F1 especially with traction control eliminating a lot of the work in corners. You can still spin them easy, but nothing like it would be without that. The hardest learning curve from other forms of racing is getting the car to move, but Rossi has a huge advantage with that with how much power a bike produces.

F1 racing has never impressed me from a racing point of view because it relies much more on technology than it does with the driver. It is definitely the sport to watch from the engineering side of things though, which is why I like to watch it.

I agree... it's much easier to jump FROM a motorcycle to a car... but never the less.. I hope he doesn't do it... the guy is amazing to watch... every race right up untill they stand on the podium... your (at least I am) on the edge of your seat to see if Rossi's gonna pull out another one... I watched a total of 3 races year before last... and 5 this last year... and he pulled out the win in all but 1... every race was a good one though... I'm not taking away from any of the other riders... but I think he brings alot to each race... kind of ups the ante a bit... ya know?:2cents:

What?
He is boring to watch. :2cents:
If he starts up front. He usually stays there. The only time I enjoy watching him race is when he has a misfortune. Then needs to make up some ground to get back to the front. That's when it gets interesting. He can carve through traffic to compete up front almost every time. Even after starting in the back, he still manages to get up front.

all the races I watched he came from behind... he only led at the end... maybe just the races I watched then... like I said... they were only a few random ones...

but what I ment by amazing was what you said... seems like no matter what he seems to end up... up front... contending for the lead... and the whole time... he just seems to be having a blast... like he'd rather be no where else... :2cents:

Jeeps, are you serious? Are you talking about Rossi? No way! Holy Cow! If you appreciate racing and learning, just watching Rossi navigate a track is friggin' amazing. I love watching when they do the close up shots on his hands...how he manages his clutch and throttle so differently than everyone else through a turn. He is just an absolutely amazing rider and you can learn a TON by watching his movements, even if he is in front and stays in front...by watching him you (meaning anyone) can learn why he stays in front and try to apply it to how you (meaning anyone) ride a bike.

Just my opinion. He is a motorcycle riding God.
