Your medical would cover you.
His insurance would cover his bike.
Worst case his insurance would sue you (your auto insurance) for the damage.
Be careful!

His insurance would cover his bike as long as your insured under a vechicle policy somewhere!

Same thing goes for driving other people's cars. If I drive Jeeps' car and I don't have insurance on a car of my own, then I wreck his car. His insurance company doesn't have to fix his car. Why? Because, a un-insured motorists/driver was operating the vechicle....

But anyway... be carefull... see many friendships ruined over things like this!

If something were to happen while riding someones bike your not insured on you would be sued by the insurance company for the damages. Its the same with cars. When my cousin first got his liscense he was driving my uncles car and he wasnt on the policy. They did insure it but they doubled his rates once the found that he wasnt on the policy. I may be wrong but insurance companys may have the right not to cover the damages if the bike is being riden by someone not on the policy. Just be careful. If you do dump it though tell them the owner was riding it.

No the problem with that example was that your cousin probably wasn't insured on any other vechicle....

Further explanation of my other post... If I own a car and have insurance on that car in my name. I can drive Twisty's car that insurance on it in his name. If I wreck that car... no biggie...because I have insurance somewhere else... make sense?!?!?

Doesn't work that way here for motorcycles, unless you specifically include other people on your policy and pay for it. Here, the insurance covers the bike and all listed drivers...it will not cover you on my bike or me on yours unless we have written the policy that way. That's why I will only let someone ride my bike when I see twisty buying/riding a BMW with jetski down to the quiche bar...

I know bikes are different in many ways but, I thought that the same rules applied as a car.
I may be wrong because I know my insurance company stated if I employ a driver, I have to list them as a driver or they will not be responsible for any damage to my truck or others personal property or medical.
