:here: I'm a huge SEC fan!!! :here: I have a personal interest in Spurrier bein back in the SEC b/c I go to S.Carolina so I'm a Gamecock! I was actually surprised b/c we have never had a strong football program but we keep attractin these good coaches....alums have the money  Now our biggest SEC rivals..UF, UT, and UGA are pretty pissed...but that's okay.

I love Auburn and I want to see another SEC team in the national title game. as long as they don't get screwed by the BCS. With as many seniors as they have, this is a good chance for them. I'm watching football all day today and can't wait for the championship game tonight.

I've been surprised at UGA...I thought they would have done better this year than they did.

Go LSU!!!!!!! Im an avid fan of the Panthers though, in Pittsburgh...but I've been following LSU for quite a few years.

as far as spurrier being back..everybody knew he wasnt going to make it in the NFL..the fun n gun, or run n shoot..basically the same difference, just wasnt gonna fly in the NFL..geez, what a flop that was. :screwy: There's a reason the run n shoot doesnt work in the nfl anymore. u have to care about the defense too. but oh well.

I'd like to see him get the gamecocks back in contention on a regular basis again, and IM sure they are excited to have him too. Florida used to be an offensive machine when he was there!

We could have a good offense if they'd complete a pass more than once a game :bash:

South Carolina has always been a dangerous team in my mind, just inconsistent like the LSU of the 90's. With spurrier back and Urban Meyer mabye to Florida.. HOW LOADED IS THE SEC WITH COACHES!! especially the east, glad we still have Ole Miss and MSU to whip in the west.

Yeah, Fitzgerald definately has his head in the game, unlike antonio bryant who still throws temper tantrums. But we shut down bryant in that last cleveland/Steelers game.

I dont know I think the fun n gun could work in the NFL but you need a mobile QB like a Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham. Steve Young, Dante Culpepper or Donovan McNabb. Spurrier tried to do it with Danny Wuerffel, Sage Rosenfels and Patrick Ramsey all of which are pocket passers and cant scramble to save their life. Also the Redskins didnt have very many deep threats to go to they had Rod Gardner, Taylor Jacobs, Jacques Green, Darien McCants and Michael Westbrook. I think for the fun n gun to work you need to build around a mobile QB who can move in the pocket and make things happen. You also need a decent deep threat to keep defenses honest and make them double so you can work the underneath receivers. Just my :2cents: though

dude, u need to put down the crack pipe.

there's a reason the run n shoot doesnt work in the NFL and hasnt worked since the houston oilers and atlanta falcons tried to run it over a decade ago. and warren moon was pretty athletic in the day when he was running this offense.. NFL defense these days are way too quick, especially 3-4 defenses, and even with a mobile QB, all you have to do is get pressure on him, and stay in a nickel defense and u'll be fine. thats why nobody uses this anymore, becauses today's defense's are predicated around speed and pressure with zone blitzing. a mobile qb wouldnt make any difference if a team actually tried to run the run n shoot, fun n gun or whatever u wanna call it.

CB's and safeties these days are also alot more athletic and jumping routes is alot more common. all you have to do is follow the QB's eyes, since the run n shoot, is a quick drop offense, u dont have to worry about his second or 3rd read to often, becuz by then, he's already sacked or running for his life.

as far as spurrier trying to run it, yes i agree, he didnt have the players to do it at all..washington sucked. but still, he had the players, a ton of quality players, but he tried to install a system that he didnt have the players for, and everybody already knew how to defense it in the first place.

and so am I. Did you get my drink yet?

This is and will remain Big 10 country. Can any one x-plain to me why there is more than 10 teams in the big ten? Shouldn't it be the Large 11 or something? Hell let Notre Dame in and call it the Dirty Dozen.

Regardless of where you live in this country you remain at the mercy of the Big Ten. You are and will remain in Big Ten country - don't ever contradict what Chev says - what is amatter with you? Last guy who did that ended up spitting teeth like popcorn.. Chev, it's aiight bro - give him a house ball on this one - he didn't know.. Please please someone tell me they gave Chev his meds today.. lol..

The SEC is definitely down. . they're going through what the Big 12 has been going through since the north fell apart. I don't care about Spurrier either way, but he screwed up going to SC, big time. Should have gone to Florida.

The funniest news I've heard lately is ND getting every offer for a coach turned down, and specifically Urban Meyer. They messed up big time not having someone lined up last week.
