Ok, weather is supposed to be bad Sat and Sun and the dealer was open till 8pm tonight so I went down and picked up the new R6. Yes, it's an '05 model. Brand spankin' new! I quickly set it off in the garage tonight and will start dressing it up tomorrow. I already have frame sliders, swing arm spools/sliders, tank protector, and flush mount LED front signals along with the Euro signal that goes in the headlight area. :D I need to order the rear taillight with integrated signals and I'll do my own fender eliminator kit as they are really easy on this bike. I'm also thinking about getting illumiglo gauges but I haven't decided for sure on that one. Anyway, here is a QUICK pic and I'll get pics up when I have everything done later. I'm also throwing in one from the factory site as well.

Nice bike Captain. I've forgotten what it feels like to get a new bike.

A report on the 2005 that I read said it was "brilliant". The only thing the R6 needed (like all the 600's with light weight, short wheelbase, and race-like steering geometry) is a steering damper. I'd get one before I'd do any cosmetic changes.

Yeah, a steering damper is first on the list as soon as I sell the Kat. The cosmetic mods I've purchased haven't cost that much yet. First thing I bought were frame sliders. I have to protect the new bike. But I did know that the R6 needed a damper and I planned on buying one before I do any hard core riding. The first 1000 miles are break-in, so I wouldn't expect to put it into any situations that would require the damper anyway. At least I hope not.

Matt,
I'm always leary about letting people ride my bikes. But we'll see how it goes. ;)
