i want to do that to a xr6000 any thoughts
?
I did not know they made a 6000, I did have a XR 600 before I bought the Ktm.

I went through the whole process of pricing out all of the stuff I needed to make my XR 600 a motard. when I got all done it was cheaper for me to buy the ktm than to make the up-grades to my Honda. and no matter what i did I could never shed the excess weight of the bike.
The Ktm 520 is only 247 pounds, the brakes to make the Honda stop in the same distance are not cheap. nor are the wheels and tires, about a grand plus

I paid $5500 for mine two years ago for my 02 it came with a set of off road tires and wheels, the motard wheels and tires, and spare plastic and parts, it already had all of the guards installed for off road use, The bark busters on mine are worn way down from sliding around the parking lot, best protection you could ever have I also have the axle sliders which are a good investment

I sold my Honda and spent another $2800 for the ktm, it has been the best investment in fun I have ever owned. I also raced it on the ice last year making it an honest 4 season bike

That's awesome.... makes me want one! :dthumb:

How much if any damage was done to the bike from that crash?

None, I think I have been down almost 15 times on the motard, some of it on the street some of it on the track. The coolest thing about it is that it is no big deal to go down, I have worn down the axle sliders the brush guards but the bike hardly shows a scratch. there is nothing like pushing it to find out what you can and can not do; it is also the best way to fine tune your skills. It also really gives me a real saftey edge to know how far I can go. My other bike 00 R1 I have about 80 hours in the paint job, I go easy with that and really ride within in my limits, yet I still manage to comfortably ride faster than most.. not trying to sound like a know it all ******* but the confidence I have gained from pushing so hard really shows up in your street riding. The most expensive part of riding the motard... I am on my third set of leathers in 3 years

My ride that I go easy on
