I just recieved my Sliders and took them out of the box to inspect them. Boy do they feel totally weak!! The denim is too light and the seams don't seem (pun intended) like they would hold up in a crash! I also have a pair of Draggin Jeans and although they don't fit me very well, they are STOUT!! The denim on the Draggin is HEAVY!! Back to the SLiders- they are also too loose for motorcycle purposes. The Kevlar positioning is better than the Draggin but since the jeans are so loose, there is no way that they would stay where they should during a slide! I am most likely going to return them. Anyone else have any different opinions of Sliders?? Ride ON!!

Here it is:

The link doesn't have the best description but they are reinforced in the butt/hip, knees, and sides (connecting from the knees to the hips). In fact, this the one thing about the Sliders that are better than the Draggins. The Sliders only have kevlar in the front of the kneess whereas the Draggins have kevlar all the way around the knees and none along the sides. You don't need kevlar around the back of one's knees. Anyways, that is the minor details. My major complaint is the thinness of the denim itself- they are almost as thin as designer denims that I've seen. Lastsly, comparing the kevlar material side-by-side, the Draggins are a lot better. Ride ON!!!

I ware Carhartts on the jeans days. JR 5.0's on most casual days and leather the rest. I have never found any brand of so called protective ridding jeans that look and fit me well enough to pay the price.

Oh yeah, I wear Carhartt stuff for work... you can put a grinding wheel to a jacket and unless you hold it there for a while it won't shread it!

I guess that's one way to test them. I think I like your method best.

Well I own about 6 carhart jackets in different styles and thickness, all in various stages of worn condition! They just rock!

I've never tested the jackets. The pants do hold up well. I still wear a pair with scuffed hip and the back side is a little thin. I have to carry my wallet on the wrong side but there still to good to through away even after a crash and several years of use.
