The good news is that Denver only got four inches of snow last week, while the mountains got four feet. The best fall skiing in a decade. The bad news for bikers is with this deep freeze, the streets in Denver are still icy and snow-packed. The bad news for skiers is the price of skiing has gone up again. It now costs $81/day for a lift pass at Vail, and $72 at Copper Mountain. Unbelievable, but discount tickets are available at supermarkets.

The price increase must be across the board for all ski slopes. Our local slope Cataloochee Ski Area, Maggie Valley, North Carolina raised their rats this year also. I would love to ski the big slope over there.

I did the snowboard thing a couple times (yes there is actually snow in AZ up north). It was fun, and I had my first (and only) concussion. It was mild, but yea that was a different experience. Its too damn expensive to take up anyway.
