and my left peg feeler today :yikes:

Was out for a ride with some guys from a local forum and we came down a hill into a downhill left that LOOKED to me like it was about 95 degrees or so...turned out to be closer to about 110...I realized suddenly that I was too hot AND had turned in too soon, thought I was gonna wind up out in the grass on the shoulder. So, I figured since I felt like I was gonna wreck anyway I might as well try a little harder to "pull it out". I gave another good press on the left bar and dropped down to the deck and gave 'er some gas. Felt the bike do a little stutter/skip as if I was just plain out of tire and heard something grind...suddenly I could see the turn open up and I stood it back up and kept going.

Funny part was, when we got to our next stop the person behind me said they hadn't seen anything wrong with the turn :p

You did well!

You can usually always push thru the turns. The bike will stick...it will be you that won't. You (not you but the rider) that will chicken out and cause the dump...

Good job!

The best part is your here to post about it. Great save. When in doubt gas it! Low side over high side any day.

It has been said that,
"only a man who is willing to go too far, knows how far man can go" I think you have found it. :dthumb:

I'm of the firm belief that the only one less interested in falling down than the rider is the bike ;) As such, I figure letting it do its job is the best way to go

It was a good reminder to slow my ass down on unfamiliar roads.

Earlzach: Yeah, I definitely found "it" on these tires :p I don't think it would have been quite as close feeling if I'd had some sportier tires (Pilots, etc). These Dunlops are alright tires for the most part but their profile is WEIRD...the tread doesn't seem to come around as far as I've seen on some of the others.

G, you're right the bike will always perform. And you're right again on the unfamiliar roads... always take it easy on those!

Glad to hear you made it out ok :dthumb: . The good part about getting out of those incidents, is that you have a better feel for the limit of you and your vehicle. Your example, plus the experienced riders feedback teaches beginners like myself what to do in similar situations...

NICE SAVE!
