Perhaps it does, but so does death.

Check out these statistics:
In 2003, fifty two percent of fatally injured motorcycle riders were unhelmeted.

Two-thirds of unhelmeted fatalities were in states without a universal helmet law.
NHTSA research shows that, in potentially fatal crashes, helmets have an overall effectiveness of 37 percent in preventing fatalities.

In 2002, helmets saved an estimated 1,005 lives.

At 100 percent use, an additional 579 lives could have been saved in 2002 alone.

Only 58 percent of motorcyclists were observed to be wearing helmets according to the 2002 National Occupant Protection Use Survey (NOPUS).

nothing ruins a riding experience more than a smashed up melon.

:screwy:

If you cant enjoy riding, with a lid on, then you dont know the first thing about what riding a motorcycle means.

Hey, how many think Indian Larry would still be with us if he wasn't too cool for school and had to feel the breeze on his bone headed head...

Probably a lot. The problem is no one wants to look like the unsympathetic a-hole and say that after the guy is gone.

he never wore helmets unless he was made to, by law..whether he was stunting or just out riding...he died doing what he loved, so I guess he went out the way he would have wanted too

Not wearing a helmet is the ULTIMATE SQUID thing to do! No debate!

Do you think there isn't a chance for you to go down, regardless of how fast, far, or what you're doing?

Do you think your head is designed to be bounced and slid down the pavement at 70mph or even 45mph?

IT'S JUST PLAIN BRAIN DEAD to not wear one. I guess that's ok too, because that's what you'll be.

:bash: :2cents: :cursin: :smash: :nono:  :loser:

:sorry: I think it's the stupidest thing a rider can do!

i'm only a wee pocket bike rider, but after i went down this past weekend, i can't imagine not wearing one - i would probably be in the hospital right now scraping rocks and dirt out of my chin and have a few of my teeth under my pillow for the tooth ferry as well as road rashed all over the left side of my face! - and i wasn't even going 25 MPH!!!!!!

PUT A LID ON IT!!!! :bash:

I don't know if it is do they have the ballz, its do they have no freaking brains and just don't care what happens to them. Its just stupid to not wear one.

Riding a bike with no lid is just like riding with a gilatene. Either way, you could and can lose your head. Just plain stupid. :bash:
