I’m new to motorcycles. I’m planning to get my bike license soon. I like sportbikes and was wondering what would be a good bike to start with. I’m a big guy (6’ 0”, 240 pounds) and would like to use the bike as a commuter vehicle.

Welcome :twfrox: .

Do a search on "starter bikes". You will get more info than you ever thought possible. Don't get hung up on your size and thinking that means you need a bigger bike to get around. The GS 500, Ninja 500R and SV 650's are all great bikes to get started on. You should highly consider a used bike as well.

Hi and :welcome:

I'd say search all over the net for starter bikes, test a few out, ask your instructor when you take the MSF course. Find what suits you the best.
The first two that popped in my head when I read your post was a Ninja500 and SV650.

Good luck!!!!
