Hey guys, i'm thinking of adding a GPR Stabilizer to my gsxr600. Let me know what you think.

Well if its anything like the SV go for it! I think the SV needs one, I just need to somehow come up with the xtra $ to get one.

Scotts for the most part is one of the most popular ones that everyone says on here. For the money, its the best. Gas Man has one on his bike and Twisty uses it on his race bike I beleive. :dthumb:

The Scotts are the best you can buy! I have had one for years and Twisty has one that he uses on his street and race bikes.

Not sure about DJ's link, check these...

I can say that I have heard less than good things on the GPR stuff.... If you didn't go with a Scotts I would get the Ohlins stuff!

well i have to say ohlins will be the best but out of mosts price range.
i personally think the top mount shaft style dampers work better. you know because a shaft that moves back and forth with fluid in it will usually never fail. n i still dont understand how they make a damper without a shaft?

anyway i have also heard alot of good things about the GPR becaseu they where the first and i still think one of the few dampers for an 05 zx. and everyone on my kawi forum got one and all said good things about it and no problmes.

and def ask speedwerks.com first b4 u buy anything. good prices, for past 2 things i got from them the best prices on the net. great customer service. and if you live near them the shipping is that fast its unbelievable.

I won't diss the Ohlins stuff but this guy (636) is a crack head monkey humper! The rotary style is the way to go. Hands down...who you going to listen to... Twisty and I or a monkey humper? DUH!

now settle down. i know everyone loves the rotary but i jsut dont find it as effective. i mean its almost like a hydrolic system withouth the power, n all of those are shafts. but i dont have anything against rotarty i just like the look of the shaft style (top mount only)

You no longer can use your household water, and sewer. As a matter of fact...go into your back yard and sit on some dirt hill..you can't use anything!

Why? Because it was hydrolics that were used on the excavator that dug the hole for your house, and helped put the house up. It also dug the water line and sewer line in... BUT NO!! Hydrolics don't have any power!! :nonod:

But you're right, the top mounts look nice! The shaft styles are ok, but to dis the rotary style just isn't wise. Heck, Honda even put a electronic rotary style on the 1000RR...

u got me wrong GASMAN i like hydrolics thats y i like the shaft style. all things hydrolic use shafts, but the damper on a bike is like a hydrolic without the power.

dont know where i read it but i read the one on the honda does not perform as good as a scotts or ohlins or any of the other top dampers

Careful about the advice you give...that's not exactly true! ;)

There are a lot of steering dampers out there that are just as good, and you're not paying for the name. There's a lot of products out there that are great, but everyone wants the name brand stuff, just because they have heard of it. Because of that, they wind up spending more money than they have to. Just because it's a brand name doesn't always mean it's the best.

Don't get me wrong, Scott's are great dampers, but so are GPRs, and so are sprints. There are differences to each one, and for street riding, you don't need to chunk out all that money for a Scott's. It depends on what the person is using their bike for, what type of bike they have, etc.

Which steering damper would you recommend for a 00 SV650 for street use, I ride hard and fast in curves, and str8's. I have a fox racing shock on the rear which feels really good in the rear, but the front just doesn't feel good at all! :ffedback:

I am actually going to let Mr. Roach answer this. He is much more in tune with the SV stuff than I am. SVs are a little finecky with their suspensions and stuff, so I don't want to answer out of turn. He is much more educated on the SVs than I am. I will tell him to post when he has a chance.
