A 953cc nekkid bike for $8499 list? Sounds appealing to me, I'm just not sure I like the stlying. It's certainly the popular direction of recent bike design, but I'm not sure if I like it. I DO Like the tail lights, nice touch.

I think its a pretty sweet ride. Im not into the naked bikes as much, but its still pretty cool! Would look even better once they get rid of that shovel!

For the most part, yes...

It's hard to define what its direct competition is. Just naked street bikes? Then you could say it goes against the SV1000S and the FZ1.

Factory street fighters? Then it's against the Buells (I'd DEFINITELY take the Z1000 over a Firebolt or Lightning ANY day), the Monsters, and the Tuono. The Z1000 is definitely the value bike out of those and fits the bill quite well...

Wouldnt you think this goes into the Just naked street bikes category? I wouldnt put it in the streetfighter category, but thats just me.

and yeah, i'd jump on this over any buell any day, no doubt!
not bad..not bad at all!

Naked bikes, sport bikes, hooligan bikes, streetfighters. OI VEY!!

The October ish of Cycle World had a 13-bike shootout in which the Z1000 was included. Unfortunately, they decided to leave out the SV1000 and the Bandit 1200.

.
how can u have a true comparo if those 2 were let out, or wasnt it just a naked bike shootout?

Damn homey, you got good gas mileage. I doubt many of the hardcore sportbikes are pushing that...

I'm lucky to get 125... 100 if I'm thrashin on it!

same here..when im pushing it, i end up gettin more drink at about 100...but milkin it, maybe 140 if i push it and pray alot!!

I guess that makes me feel better aobut mine then...lol but i still cant make it across Nevada because theres places that theres no gas stations for about 230 miles....and if im ridng across nevada then its more then a day trip, plus why would i want to carry 5 gallons of gas on me extra... talk about a heavy bike at that point. with some clothes too you better be ready for a sore back and a saggy tail (the bike). Guess thats hwy i go the other way and ride in CA though...plus the additional power the bike gets in Cali is hard to beat for how fun it makes the trip, nothing like 15 to 140 on an on ramp.

230 miles and no gas station!! OUCH!!! thats crazy!!
