just curious about how strong they are???

im just curious to someone who has used them. i would rather spend 300 on extensions and a chain than 2500 on a new swingarm. its all for drag and show. but i want somthin that is functional and looks good. im am all about goin straight. not tryin to drag my knees. or at least not that much. im a 1/4 mile guy. or i wouldnt have bought a busa

i was thinkin

i was thinkin about leavin 4'' swingarm extensions on all the time and strappin the front when at the strip. good idea or bad????? im just worried about the durability of the extensions. i wouldnt think 4'' with a mostly stock bike wouldnt be that dangerous/risky but i want to make sure b4 i go to the strip and find out different.

i have an XX as a few of you know and i have the variable 6- 9 inches, i hear alot of differeant crap to. it depends how extreme you go and how tallented the person is that does the extension. my bike for example has an airtank in the swingarm for an airshifter, and tones of stableizers inside the arm, as well as good welds. i dunno what my arms are rated for proabably around 300. the guy who did it told me 500 HP (though i remain skeptical). Has a nitro busa with around 300 hp, and he claims to have a gixxer 1100 with around 500 hp. so i dunno. personally i will maybe in the future, maybe, shoot for the 300 mark but i will be deffinatly consitering underbraces on it. a company that makes good arms if you want to go buy aftermarket is trac dynamics.
KEEP IN MIND........... when you go off and stretch alot changes, stuff i didnt think about to begin with but became evident dam quick. you will need new brake lines, buy 2 chains, the extensions, a new rear suspension (the stock will not do, i learned the hard way), which also means remove the tail and relocate the plate.

do not go cheep.............. i have seen some real hack jobs for a better choise of words, and by hack jobs i mean a busa with 2 heavy bolts holding on the extensions on the arms. NEVER DO THAT.

i have a buddy with a lightning busa, who had his bike break in half on the highway, so make sure if you get it done by someone they know what they are doing.

hope i was of some help.

The only way those extensions will work safely is if they are tig welded to swingarm and thats it. Any other way something will happen.:luck:

yea and that is exactly what i had done tig welding. and further more i had stablizers and all sorts of other strenghters put inside the arms and around them to make em stronger. BTW is that you gixxer in your avatar?? if so thats a bomb ass bike, i saw it featured in SSB a few months back, i like it alot.

:sorry: That bike is not mine. The owner is from Wareham MA. His name is Owen and he owns a company called Competive Edge. What you did to your x-tension's you should be fine. My bike dosent have that much chome but has a much better paint scheme. As soon as I am done with the final touches, I will post my ride.:dthumb: See to me a lot af chome weighs a bike down. My bike is made for the track and 1/4 mile.

You are so right. Why would you add a heavier steel to something that ia a alloy like aluminum? Although it comes down to about a few onces, you do a whole bike you are looking to a couple of pounds. Polishing gives it the same shine but you do have to keep on it more. But there is a product that you can put on your polished goods that will keep the shine for 2 years gaurenteed. It's called ZOOP SEAL.:dthumb:
