In case I missed it b4! :welcome:

I didn't change mine over till like 5k or 6k on my 9R. Blade could check and tell ya...

What I have heard is that you definately don't want to do it within the first couple oil changes. The deal is... you need your piston rings to seat properly. With the syn oil, they don't cause they just slide up the cyclinder walls to easily.

But this is quickly becoming one of those ageless questions... kinda like the one... do you baby it or beat it right out of the box...

My book say's the same 600 then 4000.I had the dealer do it at around 600 and then I changed it to mobil 1 syn. for motorcycles around 2500.I did get a weird "white haze" on the crank case sight glass though, but I'm not sweatin it,as long as the level is full and pressure is in specs...

i stuck to dyno on the 600 break in then did it agian at 4000 miles with dino... wont go 3400 bwtwene changes with dino agian.. was as bad as a car with 3400... went to Motul synthetic at 6000, then let it go three thousand and felt perfeclty slick at the 9000 change.. im at 11 and may let it go 4K with the good stuff.. since faoctyr reocmendation on my bike is every 7,500 miles.. No way would i go that far.

Id say your safe though after the 600 change.. run that to at least 2,000 then change, but like gas said.. its all opinion

My system is to use synthetic blend on the first oil change then convert to full synthetic for the rest. I have never had any issues doing this. Some swear by this method while others still say no.

I am just saying that 3,400 miles sounds a bit long for a bike change interval. Especially on convential oil!

Jeeps... you're doesn't sound that bad!

I should have added. I do my first change around the 2 hundred mile mark. Then again after the 6 mark. From there it really depends on the riding. Weekend at the track or hard days in the twisties. Its always less than 3K miles.

That's my point... 3k or more on bike oil that's not full synthetic! :skep:
Its a cheap PM. Why not stay on top of it.
They claim the synthetic oils are capable of twice the mileage and torture. I just never let that mess with my schedule. I use the claim of better oil to justifies getting lazy with my oil changes after hard weekend rides.
