Corona Extra EBSCO Media Suzuki’s Marty Craggill, who’s been sidelined since neck surgery following the Fontana round of the AMA Chevrolet Superbike Championship, has been cleared to return to racing, according to Corona Extra’s Tim Saunders.

Craggill will race the Corona Extra Suzuki GSX-R1000 Superbike at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, round 12 of the series. New Englander Scott Greenwood, who’d filled in for Craggill in the Superstock class at Road America and Brainerd International Raceway, will continue to race Superstock at Laguna Seca. Team member Ben Attard will race the Supersport class.

“I have just been notified this evening that after a second opinion and series of X-rays, Marty Craggill has been cleared to ride Superbike at Laguna,” Saunders said in an e-mail. “He is booked to arrive in Los Angeles on Monday to attend the Sidi 2005 boot launch with Ben Attard.”

Craggill had to have his C-6 vertebrae pinned and bone grafted following Fontana, though the exact cause of the injuries is unknown.

Race fans will have plenty of chances to meet the Corona Extra EBSCO Suzuki team and see their motorcycles up close prior to the combined AMA/WSB weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, July 9-11.

The events start on Tuesday July 6 and go through Friday night, July 9. In addition to meeting the riders, there will be Corona girls and promotional giveaways.
