I got this email about telemarketers calling cell phones.

I have always been told its illegal because... on your land line it doesn't cost you to answer. But on a cell, it cost you minutes and therefor money to recieve that phone call you didn't want.

Have any of your heard of this or tried it?

I received legitimate information that telemarketers are going to start calling cell phones.
You need to call: 888-382-1222 to have them blocked from your cell phone. It may take up to a month to have them completely blocked, but when it's complete, it will last for 5 yrs.

I like ****ing with telemarketers. Ask em personal questions and just try to hijack the conversation away from what they want to talk about. I don't get to have fun anymore because I only have a cell phone and they dont call me on it.

I agree I use to F**k with them all the time too, but all I have is a cell phone now, and my voice over IP, which I don't even use it. I think I've only used the VOIP once or twice. no one has the number.

I get a really good deal on verizon phones through TVA and somehow managed to convince 90% of my family and girlfriend to switch to verizon. So we have unlimited mobile to mobile minutes and with free nights and weekends I just decided I didn't need a lan line at all.

All telemarketers should be taken to the firing line and put out of their misery. Thats probably one of the most aggrivating things when they call my cell phone. :upset: :upset: :cens: :cens:

I know one or two people that has had telmarketers call their cell phones...it happened because they listed their cell as their house number on some application; since some people including myslef dont have a need for home land lines anymore.

I put my cell on the national do not call register.:dthumb:

That's getting more and more common these days.
Contest to win cars and vacations at mall and such are the worst place to leave unlisted and cell numbers. They sale the info to pay for the give away.

:dthumb: i think if you hunted them down...you already found them. :dthumb:
then its time to do somthing.

i do one of three things when a telemarketer calls 1) hang right up.
2) i'll play along like im interested and get the whole schpeil (sp. i've never written that word before) then when they finish and start askin info i act like theres an emergency at my house, heart attack or fire or burglary etc, then hang up.
3) use a foreign voice (for some reason i'm very good at accents) and act like i misunderstand what they are saying and throw in some outlandish **** or get offended like theyre insulting me.

i think i might actually spread them some joy. can you imagine how many people get pissed at them daily. so if im in the mood. i'll at least try to make em smile.

*oh yah i signed up for that national no call list also.

The computer is the only thing on our land line...when we go to satellite ISP...the land line will be history

One of my friends has one of those satellite ISP.....says its :disapp: often unreliable (especially in less than optimal weather) & speed sucks...when I was at Starbucks using tmobile (11mbps) he stated how the tmobile was faster than his satellite...

Also I once worked for a media company that would get data via satellite...and man that thing was unreliable during cloudy, rain, etc type weather. They eventually phased out the sat for more reliable T3 line.

Just my :2cents: Id see if they offer trial period first, just to see how it works in your area:2cents:
