Hey people,

As most of you know, I have a 2005 R6 but for some reason, it gets up to like 230degrees with the fans constantly turning on. I saw another guy around town with an R6 and asked him about his, he said it never goes over like 190. Anyone know if I should change out the thermostat or is this normal?

The Bee gets hot and the fan comes on when riding in low gears at slow speeds. I have about a 2 mile ride on the dirt road to my house from the hard road...It is all at 15 mph or less...I can be running 168 F. when I turn from the hard road and the fan comes on about the time I pull into the drive...

230 is too high. My fan kicks on at 214 and never goes any higher than that, even if it's 110 degrees out. Somethings not right. It should be a warranty issue that can be fixed for free. I'd look into that first.

I believe most manuals state not to run the bike if the temp gets to 230+.

I dunno...what was the air temp when this was occuring and what was your riding style at the occurence??

Two days ago...it was 60 degrees and I was out for about an hour...never went below 45mph and had about 3 speed runs at over 140mph...temp never reached above 190 degrees on my bike.
