Yeah I suck! I didn't update when I got home on Thursday night. But all in all I had a pretty good night. I had to move over quite a bit though. Lanes were VERY dry and breaking hard left. so it went like this: 194, 170, 190 so I had a 554 for the night. My cousin Dave threw a 287. LEFT a HUGE split. Really sucked to be him!!!!! :bonk:
The Elusive 300 Game
Damnit. I go to bowling tonight after 2 weeks off. In practice I am rusty as hell. So I come out first game with the first four. Then I throw the fifth and as it left my hand I thought man that was "the" perfect ball and it rattles the 4 pin, almost knocks it over and it is left standing. I feel either too much ball or bad rack or both. So I strike out after that - 279. Damnit. I want that fifth frame back. Next time I am re-racking the fifth frame just for piece of mind. After all that my team takes the first game by only 14 points! (against the 1st place team). So I am thinking 700 series right? Wrong. 184 and 182 second and third games. 645. Damnit again. I would have settled for a 700 series and skipped the 300 for now. It is amazing to drop almost 100 pins the second two games. How does that happen? I adjusted and did everything right. The second game I had one open but just no string of strikes - not a bad game but just not anything special except alot of spares and a couple strikes (and a church in the middle). Good thing about bowling there is 36 weeks so there is always next week. The good thing was the 279 was my new high game after being stuck on 277 forever (about 15 games of 277).

Char - its still early and unless you practice during the off season then you are probably just rusty.. we start late - not until 9/12. I am totally looking forward to it.

well that's not too bad hon!!! We still have a whole season to go yet. Last Thursday the lanes were a little tough but I still pulled a 206, 212, and a 202 for a 620 series. AND I lost in brackets AND poker WTF?!?!?!?!?! But now my average is too high. *Sighs* NO way I'll be able to keep it. My game fluctuates too much.
141 121 140 (134 average), but I know I suck! LOL At least I won 2 games of poker though! Its nice taking money from MP. LOL

practice? lol.. maybe practice walking my straight line on my way to the bar for the ride home through the city.. lol..

looks like I will have no problem keeping high average in this hack league.. should be fun though..
i checked my stats and last year i started with a 179 average first week so I upped it 2 pins.. lol.. I think my biggest problem last night was I didn't clean the ball for like 9 games and it just quit working for me - that and I was rusty.. usually I clean it before each week - makes a big difference.. have to break out the black magic next week..
ace - with that courage dog ball you just might be ready for the tour.. can I be your agent? Remind me next week to bring a towl of my own. I think this week the Pin Monkey was excited and shooting his love seed all over balls. Definately posed a problem! I had more greese/ oil on my hands than I do when I put the gerry curl juice in my hair!
Dissapointing news, the Courage Dog ball was not won, and has been put on the back burner. The wife went on a shopping bing purchasing designer purses and bags to carry her work in. Going to stick it through for a few weeks with the Rhino and then decide if another ball is in the future. I did find a sweet one (unfortunately cannot post picture here) with a lovely lady on it, legs spread and it said "SPLIT". Choices, choices!!!
Didn't do too bad tonight. 167, 196, 221 for a 584 series. It was really messed up. I was throwing nice and easy and over my mark, coming into the pocket during practice. but when we started the first game it started taking off too soon. End result 167. But I put more speed and more hook to it the second and third games. :scratch:

I like to bowl. Not that I am any good at it. A good game for me is if I can bowl my weight. LOL With a new ball on the way perhaps my game will improve. :dthumb:
sounds like you are picking up where you left off char.. Ace has been pretty consistent helping us wade around the middle feeders - like 8th place out of 14th.. I've had a few good games but I have been pretty inconsistent - even so much that I didn't even want to post here.. Well I think I have it nailed down - I have been struggling to figure the lanes out thus fair - that and between being rusty with the new season.. of course I figured out I was bowling like I was on synthetic lanes with a ball made for synthetic lanes and now I switched back to the archieac wood lanes.. i straighted my stance a bit, moved a little left and it seems to be helping my game alot.. 213, 193, 203 - 609 - this week.. looking for the first 250 game and 650 series next week..

Finally victory is at hand - 233-243-236 = 712. 5 long years and another 700 series for MP. Took all 7 tonight. The Drunk Monkeys are going straight to the top (of course when you are near bottom up is the only way to go). 10 weeks and finally a good series. Now how about that 300? Name on a banner - I think they need to put "Mudpuppy 300" on the banner - that would be sweet...
