Wiarton willy is the name of the ground hog for our area. Actually the real willy died a few years ago, so they just brought in a replacment. Who would have ever thought you could just replace such a fixture of the community, let alone give him the same name as his predesessor:scratch:. I guess it was so the kiddies wouldn't get upset, and the parents wouldn't have to explain the "natural process of life" earlier than they had too.

If you ask me, the whole groundhog thing is a crock too. but sometimes is fun to get in the spirit of things. especially if he predicts an early spring, gives us a hope of an earlier riding season :thumbs:

I thought seeing the shadow was a good thing? Like see the shadow 6 more weeks - don't see the shadow even longer? Or do I have that reversed.. That little bastard wouldn't see his shadow up here in Detroit because it is cloudy as a mother and foggy too.. But on the bright side it was a balmy 5 degrees this morning..
