So, I am riding to school and I notice that most oncoming bikers are waving to me now, even hogs. They are giving me the low left hand wave almost like they are signaling left. Ive heard that this the the "wave of choice", but not too familiar with it. I am asuuming that the return wave is the same thing, but I dont know for sure. I dont want to be the ass that doesnt wave or wave back. So what do you guys usually do?

I've noticed most riders around here use the pointing finger wave technique. So it doesn't confuse other drivers into thinking the MC'ist is indicating a left turn, I guess?

BTW, they mostly point down to the ground.

Yup! It is usually an off to the side single finger point. Anything other than that is rookie. A two finger down is exceptable.

I have recently changed from the two finger point down wave to the shocker. This will be permenant effective today.

the shocker.. lol.. that is a good idea.. maybe I should join you in gesturing with the shocker - might make them think twice of stopping to check out your bike or riding too close.. i usually throw gang symbols at them - confuses them and other drivers..

I would do the shocker, but its been outplayed by an old co worker of mine. He was a tool. He had a Civic Si with the license plate "SHOKKER". And he would do the shocker sign every 5 minutes for months.

Fortunately I havent seen or done the :seeya: or the even more retarded :here: wave. I do the 2 finger point wave, or sometimes the quick nod like other bikers do 'round here.

not many hoggers wave here in california, but 99% of sport bikes do
