Hey guys sorry to bug agin. First thanks for the help on my last request. Does anyone know if I can adjust my throtle on my 2k zx6r, when I go to pull on it it has some slack on it. Its about may be 1/4 inch or so and its starting to bug cus to get it og I first need to find the sweet spot and then I get power. The bike was sitting for almost a year and the throthe would get stuck when I pulled on it but some lube fixed that, now its just the slac. thank guys your very hepfull.

As a general suggestion, might I suggest a carb cleaning/balance? Yea its expensive as hell, but if its been sitting for a year, chances are they are out of sync and dirty as ****.
I would check that page I gave you for the throttle cable adjustment. It might have something about it. Hint: Look everywhere. I was looking to replace my CCT and I found it on "how to adjust your valves" page.

Snad is right. 1/4" doesn't sound that bad. Most of these questions can be answered in your simple owners manual that came with your bike. It should also tell you what is the recommended amount of throttle cable play. Furthermore, it will show you with pics and descriptions on how to adjust it.
thank you guys but what i mean is that the turning assenbly feels loose like i can wiglle it and on my other bike and my friens bikes theres no play

lets say thats the throtle i can wiggle it up and down. like to accelarate there is a gap of play b4 i get juice. thank you its not a big safety issue since i became use to it but its one of those things i would like to fix you know. also i bought the bike used so i dont have a manual.:twfrox:

Yeah, but there is suppose to be some slack and your buddies might have theirs too tight!
I'm sure more bike carry the same recommended slack. You can adjust most of it right at the lever. Then some more adjustment can be made at the throttle bodies/carbs.

For my CBR the freeplay should be 0.08-0.24 inch. So 1/4 inch is OK. But I adjust mine to the low end. With all my riding on the streets, I want instant throttle. The Haynes manual says to "slacken the locknut on the cable upper adjuster (mine has push and pull cables) and rotate until the required amount of freeplay is obtained then tighten the locknut. If it is not possible to obtain the correct freeplay with the upper adjuster, it will be necessary to make adjustment at the lower adjuster, situated on the carburetors." Haynes is published out of England, so the english is very proper.
Make sure after you adjust the throttle that you start the engine and let it idle and move your bars from lock to lock a few times and listen to the engine. If it revs at all its too tight. Real important because you don't want extra throttle in a corner when you don't expect it.:yikes:
