Hey whats up. I'm getting kinda bored with my car and I put it on honda-tech.com to test the waters. So this guy with a bmw 5 series asks me if I want to make an even trade. Heres the link : http://www.hondamarketplace.com/zerothread?id=1348109

Its a 98 with 120k miles on it.. but the condition is almost flawless. How much longer you think i could get out of this motor. He says he has records of all the times he brought it to bmw for service.. Says changed oil every 2500.. I dont know if I believe all this untill i see the records. What do you guys think?

I have a 2004 Honda Civic Si with 25k miles on it. Lowered with Tein basic coil overs, some audio **** (taking out my subs n amp) and I might sell it with the rims.

I'm not gonna keep it for a very long time but maybe 2-3 yrs, so basic questions are .. How long would do you think the car would last, You think its worth it? pros cons?

That's really clean beemer....pixels tend to go bad in the gauge cluster around 100K and check to make sure that the water pump/thermostat has been replaced too, otherwise it will cause you grief. Make sure that the oil was changed on time, every time, in the 540i's the oil tends to get icky really quick if the oil is not changed on time. It's a badass car, but it is very very high maintenance, and costly to repair should something go wrong....Im not sure how much your honda is worth, but the beemer is some where around 13-14K....If you have driven the car and really like it, I would go for it but with caution, I would take it to a really reputable BMW shop and have them to a full inspection on the car.

Whats the value of your Honda? Hard to belive a Bemmer owner would even want a Civic.

Actually, I can't believe a Honda owner would want a BMW!

MissAmazing is correct in her advice, I had a 5 series a few years ago and it was more upkeep than trying to keep Imelda Marcos in shoes... It was very expensive, I can't remember any time I ever took it to the dealer for anything, even an oil change that didn't cost me $100.00 before I could get away. And it seemed like it was up in the air more than my cessna. I was very unhappy with it and M traded it for a Pontiac SSei sedan that we really enjoyed.

Why would you trade one of the most dependable cars on the market for one of the most un-dependable? :skep:

Especially a car with 25k mi for one with 125k mi
and yours is 6 yrs newer....
