I was researching lexan when i thought of motorcycle applications. I was wondering why it hasnt been done yet, not even on the show circut where it would most likely show up, when i found this Ducati pic by chance. I dont know who, what, when, where, how or why; but what do yall think?

That is awsome. YOu have the best of both worlds, plastic for protection and yet it is still naked. I'll be looking into this. For real, I need new plastic anyways. If anyone knows where to get it or how much it cost let me know.

Actually it has been done, partially anyway. I was at CSC in orlando couple months ago and they had a busa hump made out of that that you could see the chrome nitrous bottle inside, Not my taste but it was definately different and COOL!!

I've seen it on Tuner TV. Transparent hoods on some of the little show cars. I thought it was cool. I would have to see it in person to decide if I actually liked it. I cant imagen it lasting long. Probably would turn white after some UV.

I like it! Especially if you have a sweet looking motor. Of coarse on some you might want to clean up some stuff. Not too mention you would have to remove those and clean them very well when they got dirty!

I don't think it looks good. It would probably turn a different color, and it almost looks like a naked bike.

I think that is most likely what these pics are. Maybe a show display or something.

the hoods on cars are normally a tinted color. And most the SS bikes wouldneed a clean up. But on my naked bike it would be sweet, since its already as clean as it can get. Buell has had the transparent plastic blue tanks for a couple years now. I'd love to know whos maken them too... Id love to get a few things in a transparent black color or charcoal to replace the black plastic on my bike, show a lil under it but just a lil bit, not a clear view.. like a light smoke visor.

I like it. Wind protection plus showing off the bikes mechanicals. durability... who knows, but i like the idea. I wish i knew who does Buells. Persuade them to make some for me.
